Re: Tidied Roland up a bit, what do you think?

Another quick update for this car. I have now moved on and got myself a Jaguar XJ8 3.2 Sport so the Sterling has left my care. I was sad to see it go as in the time I owned it, it just did the job. Exactly as it's makers intended. It's still in the family though so I still get to see it. Well over 1...

Re: Who drives their 800 daily?

I use mine daily although not doing huge mileage any more. The first 820i I had was used daily too back when I did serious miles. It covered something like 36k in the 18 months I had it. The one I have now is Ryan Campbell's old car, which has since been renamed Sarah. Fabulous car she is too. :D

Agreed. Let's all draw a line and move on. The trouble with the written word is that it's all too easy to mis-read and misinterpret the real message. As you were :-)

Re: 1989 827 Sterling F64 TKV £495!!!

What on earth has happened hear? This forum used to be such a happy place full of banter, friendly ribbing and general fun and games. I have been absent from here for a while and to be honest, I am disappointed to return and find this blatant ''bashing'' of a mate of mine who does more to raise the ...

Re: Tidied Roland up a bit, what do you think?

A quick update on this car for those who don't know, I bought this car off Ryan about a month back now. What a car it is, too. Drives really well. Once it's warmed up it runs beautifully, although when cold it's a typical T series engine lol. Despite being lowered and firmed up....a lot.....it is st...

Top Wishbone Bushes/complete wishbones

Hi guys, I really hope someone can help. My 800 is in need of top wishbone bushes, and I can't source any. Can't even get hold of complete wishbones brand new. If anyone has any bushes or complete wishbones squirrelled away they wouldn't mind parting with I would very grateful for the opportunity to...

So it looks like you're keepint the car, Dan. What made you change your mind? Looks to be a nice car and I'm glad your enthusiasm has returned for it. :-)

Rob's 820 up for offers

Unfortunately living away from home is starting to take it's toll on my finances and I no longer have the time or money to finish this car. I have been offered a tidy low mileage BMW by one of my best friends for a very small amount of money. It seems the sensible way to go to be honest. Therefore m...

Re: Rob's 820 :-)

MOTd this car this week. Not too dramatic. Also last night we fitted a new rad. Aside advisories for the front tyres (which are going to be changed asap) and slight play in the wishbone bushes (not too bad really) it was an easy enough pass. It failed initially on headlamp aim and a seized handbrake...

Re: Rob's 820 :-)

Felt it was time for an update on this as it's been a while since I've shown my face on here. The car is running well, and is currently pretty much issue free, with the exception of the occasionally temperamental starter motor. The suspension, brakes and steering are A1, the car having had a new CV ...

Re: Rob's 820 :-)

Thanks for the heads up, Rich. Although I have no tools and nowhere to get underneath a car now, so the question is, will I be able to check it, or am I going to have to take it to a garage and let them do it?

Re: Rob's 820 :-)

Will have had this car a year next month, and have already put 17,000 miles on the clock  Have just moved branch for work too, so the car can have a little rest as work is now a mere 3 miles away. Jobs on the list are ball joints, cv joints (got a knock on full lock) and possibly drive shafts...

Re: What do we know about Volvo V70s?

My mum had an ex unmarked Police V70 T5 until late 2010, and it is a huge regret that I didn't buy it when I had the opportunity. When she sold it, it had 270k on the clock and felt like a brand new car. Tight as a drum, no squeaks/rattles etc, it never went wrong while we had it, only needing a cou...

Re: Rob's 820 :-)

£140 all in. Not too bad really. Saved me doing it myself. And the part was a genuine one from an X-part dealer. They tried to get hold of a pattern part for me which would have been a bit cheaper but couldn't. So they got the more expensive one, but knocked the labour down a bit. And it was sorted ...
