Re: G reg 820, Palm Bay, Margate
We're all good, how you and the fleet are holding up well? The first Peugeot wasn't too bad, but a couple of months after I bought it it was written off while parked outside the house. It was very basic and under-powered, but felt quite nice to drive and was immaculate, when it was written off I bou...

Re: Anybody fancy swapping a Rover 800 for a Jaguar S-Type 3.0 v6
Few extra bits:
Just checked the MOT, it's actually 31st October 2018
Also worth noting that the petrol flap release cable is stuck so I use an elastic band around the catch to hold it and a credit card to pop it open.

Re: G reg 820, Palm Bay, Margate
Hi Dave, maybe a little late at spotting this. I'm still around. Sold the Accord on last December so got a good few years out of that one, ended up going through 2 Peugeots for the first half of this year then onto an S-Type. Think I'm done with Peugeot for this lifetime

Anybody fancy swapping a Rover 800 for a Jaguar S-Type 3.0 v6
It's been a few years since I've owned my beloved Rover 820Si, and despite driving a Jag now I still look up at the framed photo of my old car and miss it. Would anybody have any interest in swapping a Rover 800 for an S-Type? About the Jag, Model: S-Type SE Year: 1999 (goes by pre 2001 car tax, so ...

Re: 1990 Celica GT
Thank you Richard & Simon, it's nice to drop in here every so often, one day another 800 will be on the drive. I'll keep this space updated with any work that is done on the car. I'm aiming to start the work around mid August. I'm scraping by this month (messed up my accounting), then the MoT on the...

1990 Celica GT
Hi all, it's been a while since I've been here of late, I was looking at getting either a 200 series coupe or an 800 coupe but eventually shocked myself and bought a non Rover as a project car. I got this bargain on ebay for £375 with 11 months MoT left on it. https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hp...

Re: 1993 Jaguar XJ40
In hindsight, I would have blocked off the void with screwed up carrier bags to stop stuff dropping down there That's a good idea, although I'm starting to wonder if it actually has been given up due to the head gasket as there's not much in the way of signs (once I get it going properly I'll run a...

Re: 1993 Jaguar XJ40
Thank you again for clarifying that, getting the lower chain off looks like a procedure I'd rather not do unless I have to, so being able to leave it in place will make a massive difference to the head gasket. I'll watch out for dropping any bolts into the chain cover, I'm a bit of an expert at drop...

Re: 1993 Jaguar XJ40
I've got a '92 version of one sat on my drive too. It's for a planned engine & transmission transplant so if you need any niggly trim bits let me know. It's got a full Prinz LPG setup on it if you want that. You know of XJ40.com I'm sure - I'm just awaiting conformation on XJ40.com Although it look...

1993 Jaguar XJ40
Hi all, I just couldn't keep away from those British cars!! I just won a 1993 Jaguar XJ40 (4 litre AJ6) on ebay as a long term project, at the moment there's a few jobs to do on it, first of all, investigate the possible HG faliure and give it a good clean, then I'll see the next steps. It's only a ...

Re: sad day
Some pictures would be good, if you're having problems posting them feel free to email them to me (jv@thevdm.com) and I can put them up. I'm guessing you're talking about scrap money as it'd be saving it from the scrap heap? I might be interested, especially if it's a MKI, although you're quite far ...

Hi Simon, that would sound like a PHPMailer issue or incorrect SMTP settings, depending on which method is being used.Simon Hubbard wrote:Pretty sure no one is getting notifications Jim.

Re: Lack of Forum Notificiations
If some people are able to receive emails but not others (I'm one of them) then there's a good chance that one of the websites on the same IP has been blacklisted, this can usually be overcome by adding the sending email address to your address book or sending an email to the address from your accou...

Re: What is your latest purchase?
Went to Halfrauds for the "Deal of the day" which was the 120 piece socket set for 60.00 They sold the last one via the online sales thing, as the guy I was dealing with was looking for it. So they let me have the 150 piece for the same price! :D http://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/so...
