I'm afraid not Dave, I sold it at the NEC Restoration Show - still getting round to closing all my ads for it! Thanks for the interest though.

Colleague, not boss... I'm not Practical Classics staff!

Alas, I doubt Danny would be interested. I've just sold him my SAAB and he has his Jensen to finish!

1998 Rover 820 Sterling Auto for sale.

I'm selling my 800. I've not had it long, but with a P6 project imminent and a fleet of 8 I can't see myself getting round to finishing it off any time soon. Woodcote Green with Osprey Grey leather. It’s done just shy of 112000 miles and I’ve known the car since about 80000. The car is MoTed until ...

Shame to break it as otherwise it drives nicely enough. Looks totally hanging and second is, er, interesting though - I'd not want to use it like that.

What defines a premium car?

Hi chaps/chapesses/like-minded Roverholics, I'd like your opinions on something. I'm a shortlisted finalist in the Sir William Lyons Award 2013, and the topic of debate is the future of premium vehicles. As owners and enthusiasts of what when new was considered a premium car, I'd like to hear what y...

Re: 1988 Rover 820Se Fastback

Sam - the car is correct spec for the year including the 15" wheels and trims which were common to the 820SE, 820Si, 827Si, 827SLi from March 1988 onwards. The paint is White Diamond, interior is Chalkstripe/Plain Velvet in Flint colour. Didn't know that Brad - thought they still had 14s! Kate, tha...

Re: 1988 Rover 820Se Fastback

The sunroof aperture and sunroof cartridge are known weak spots on these. Needless to say, I had a look for you at Tatton and whilst there's a bit of rust on the cartridge (hence the staining on the sunroof cover) the sunroof aperture is one of the best I've seen in a long time. This is a very early...

Not sure the rear is standard either - look at the bottom skirting.

Was this car for sale about two years ago in Huddersfield or am I thinking of another one?

Nor were Vitesse wheels IIRC but plenty were sold with them! i'd think a dealer would have done it as an accessory Kate

Re: What MPG figure do you achieve?

Decided to see whether the factory figures are based in fact the other night. Journey, Prestwich (M60) to Sheffield (J36 M1) on the motorway network. I had a very full boot and was charging my phone from the cig lighter, plus it was a touch stormy outside. Was running Shell VPower - engine's happier...
