Re: New Addition - 1986 Rover Sterling (Rebecca)
Hi All, She is indeed a 2.5, so has the weird, earlier things that the 2.5s had... - Seperate filter style oil filter, rather than the spin on cartridge - Early, non variable length inlet tract (this, lends the engine a throatier, 90 degree V6 style sound, the C27A is much more muted) - The 2.5 Auto...

New Addition - 1986 Rover Sterling (Rebecca)
Hi All, I have recently acquired 'Rebecca', from the previous custodian, Tim Whitelion. She will make a worthy companion for my very early Sterling 2.7 :). Not a huge amount of work is required, but I have drawn up a small list of jobs to attend to. - Alternator - Recondition 285mm calipers - Genera...

Re: What's your name?
Hi All,
I tend to spend more time over on the Facebook group, but, my name is James Copp-Taylor. I was around the 800 scene back in the early 2000s, back in the old Listbot, eGroups and Yahoogroups days .

Re: MK1 doors and panels
Hi all,
Thanks for the replies, I have evaluated the Rimmer Bros doors, but they do appear to be Mk2 items, so the outer trim strip is in a different position, etc. ideally, I am after the complete doors. Ahh well , I will keep looking.

MK1 doors and panels
Hello, It's been a while since I last posted, so I hope everyone is well. I am currently trying to collect a few panels for my early Mk1 Sterling 2.7 . I am after, ideally, a pair of front doors. I am also interested in any other Mk1 panels, particularly a rust free bonnet. Thanks in advance, James

Re: Hi All
A shame, a great shame. I spent a fair amount of time polshing and lapping valves into the replacement head. She was stunning, once finished. I can only assume it was wrapped around a tree .

Re: Hi All
Not too sure whaT became of J421RRW, myold 820turbo. I had to part with her, late 2001, dueto redundancy, I wish I'd held onto her, to be honest. I had replace the head, as th3 original had cracked, and treated her to a full waxoyl. She went downto Portsmouth, and I lost track at that point. One of ...

Re: Hi All
Hello, Indeed, I was on the Listbot mailing list, way back in the late 90's, stayed when it became the egroups, and later, yahoogroups mailing list, then left the scene in around 2001/2. The rather sad portal into my early 20's , i.e. www.build-quality.co.uk , is, still live, as it appears to have l...

Hi All
Hello, I'll start by introducing myself. I am James Copp-Taylor. I have recently joined this forum, as I have recently come back into the Rover 800 world. I last owned an 800, back in 2002. A Caribbean blue, Rover 820Turbo Fastback. This made way for a 1987 Jaguar XJ40 3.6, which was my classic main...
