Re: Alternate Brake Master Cylinder
Good spot, looks like I was lucky, I was going to wait till the covid thing is over and shows etc back on before buying so to make it the last thing to replace before getting the car roadworthy again but they were doing a special offer 10 or 15% off so went ahead, maybe a few others were watching fo...

Re: Alternate Brake Master Cylinder
I just bought a new SJC1007 from Rimmers, searched for alternatives but found nothing else. I wont fit second hand brake parts, its too dangerous. The new SJC1007 is expensive but the original has worked reliably for 26 years so went for the same again.

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
A battery isolator switch has been on the to do list for a long time so several templates and many changed plans later I decided next to the front passenger seat was the best location. It needs to be very secure so I used 6mm aluminium plate. http://rovervitesse.com/IMG2175%20900px.jpg Much sawing a...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Thanks Dave, the original seat rails bolt into a double skinned captive nut at the front of the box section but for my bucket seat mounts I had to drill and bolt down through the top of the single skin area of box section as pictured. Now with these little plates added it should be as strong as the ...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
While the seats were out it was also a good opportunity to improve the seat mounting points. These little captive nut inserts are to go inside the front seat mount crossmember. As well as adding strength they will save me a lot of time balancing a nut and washer on the tip of a finger while hanging ...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Haha thanks Marc, thanks Dave. I really appreciate your comments and apologise for the very late reply. A short internet break turned into a few months but work has continued on the car. https://rovervitesse.com/IMG1934%20900px.jpg I changed the 4 point harnesses to 6 point by adding crutch belts. T...

The exhaust rear sections and mounts are finished. http://rovervitesse.com/IMG1135%20900px.jpg http://rovervitesse.com/IMG1238%20900px.jpg Car still up on stands when I took this but it looks something like this from above. http://rovervitesse.com/IMG1188%20900px.jpg For the more sensible rear silen...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Thanks for the comments Dave, Adrian, Henrik and Mark. Thanks Henrik, a huge compliment but it is so far from original not sure it deserves that title, it does have plenty of dents and scratches that do not show in the pictures. I plan to get the sun roof opening filled in and body straight and resp...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Bit more progress Fuel tank is cleaned inside using the Bilt Hamber fuel tank cleaners, its good stuff but because this tank is 68 litres it needed a lot of dilution to completely fill it but was still left with a couple of small pockets of air at the top, so went out and sloshed it around every few...
