Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

Cheers Dave, the Porsche driver seemed completely unaware of other cars on track and the Alfa that blew fluid all over the track also seemed completely unaware of what happened, marshals missed it too, at that point I decided it is a good time to let the car cool down.

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

I think it is mainly the bolt seized in the arm, crack the rear bolt loose too to help the arm sections move. It took a lot of force, one foot in the wheel arch for leverage and a 24" breaker bar, once it had initially broken the grip it still had to be soaked with penetrating fluid for a couple of ...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

Agreed, we must keep busy and what better way than maintaining our Rovers. So here is a rusty update. The seized fuel pipe union would not come apart while attached to the car so I had to remove the tank to engine bay metal pipes, 3 pipes that run the length of the car to engine bay fuel filter, fue...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

Thanks for the tip Dave, it might still come undone with conventional methods, if brute force fails then Ill give it a try.

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

Thanks Marc, sadly it looks like the world will be taking a year off from large gatherings while this virus is going round. No car shows or gatherings. We have to adapt and use the time do more work on our cars and hope we all come through ok. So some updates Front suspension is reassembled with the...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

Apologies for late replies. Yes Dave they are from your link. The logo image is good quality but the gel part seems a bit soft, I assume this is because they are meant to be for wheel centre caps and flexible to stick to a domed cap. It already has fine swirl scratches from handling and wiping with ...

Couple of small but satisfying jobs to update. The steering wheel horn push roundal is fitted to complete the new steering wheel http://rovervitesse.com/IMG9705%20900px.jpg Fuel filler pipe is pretty much ready to go back on once I de rust the area it sits in, a job I have been putting off because i...

Re: Still around!

Workshop looks great, best of luck with the business. Thank you! Got to admit your Vitesse was a pretty big inspiration both back in my youth youth and today. Glad to see you're still tweaking and constnatly improving the car. Loving the attempts to stiffen the shell, I recall vividly just how flex...

Once set on the production line those adjusters are forgotten.
I hope to get all the basic geometry settings back to factory spec.

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback

It is so noisy already a bit more discomfort should be ok, it makes me grin when I first drive it each time it comes out for the summer. Gear box mount bushed, bolted http://rovervitesse.com/IMG9536%20900px.jpg and fitted http://rovervitesse.com/IMG9551%20900px.jpg Rear suspension toe adjuster bolts...
