Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Had the Coupe on the ramp this morning. Glad to say it's solid underneath and must have been garaged most of its life. Indeed the slave cylinder is new and I'll try the upside down trick and a pressure bleeder, or pushing fluid back up from the slave and cracking a fitting on the master. Not the bes...

Until I get pics:

Nice to find receipts for £1200 worth of work in Dec 18! New clutch and clutch hydraulics. Still feels if it needs bled, so that's the first job. Then to see how much to wrap it BRG!

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Update: Put the mudflaps on TB2. Oh and I have bought a Vitesse Coupe. Harry and I traveled down to Slough in TGM, bought the Coupe and we drove in convoy to Daves and picked up some Coupe spares before returning to base. Harry got 380 miles on a tank of lpg and I have filled the Coupe. Pics to foll...

Re: Turbo Coupe

He does say in the ad that the paint is not as good as it looks in the photos. Might need a respray - in green! I've asked for more photos.

Re: Coupe Sills back on sale

Thanks. First time I have bought sills for a car I don't have yet. By the law of sod it will probably mean that if I do find a BRG turbo coupe, the sills will be perfect! A good insurance.

Re: Coupe Sills back on sale

I've just ordered a pair in case I do eventually buy a Coupe!
At least if I get one with dodgy sills, I'll be able to sort them!

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

My son had a fob failure on TGM the other night when the car would not unlock or start due to the immobiliser. Luckily wife agreed to bring the spare fob (phew) and we got home. I put new batteries in the original fob but still no response despite the LEDs blinking. After consulting Dave (your knowl...

Re: R24 AAB - Vitesse Coupe - immaculate - 189,900 miles

MM Maybe not so keen now. Seems to have rusted a lot in a year, or a different MOT station. MOT fail sheet (now passed it would seem): Vehicle structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced both sides sill corroded/holed various places upper/under (6.1.1 ...

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Update on TB2: Been left stood for a while as I'm working from home and been using the MG. Battery flat. Charge overnight and all seems ok. After working on the Morris Minor GT (changing from twin back to single carb and a new choke cable which I can't get anything to undo it behind the dash...), th...

Ha! I had thought of you when I read that the fluid was changed. I have tried to find out where the car is but the e-mail on the advert bounces back. Have asked the Website for detail.

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Cheers Dusan. TB2 Update: Front flexi on the exhaust had been blowing a bit but degraded to a full rasp. Sourced a front pipe for a very reasonable £26, so decided to self isolate in my workshop for an afternoon. Hate doing exhausts, but with the car on the ramp, it is at least accessible and the La...

Re: Thunderbird 2 & The Green Machine

Hi Dusan, Thanks for all the work you did to the car (maybe apart from the 5th gear ;-) I don't do a lot of motorway commuting which is maybe what was intended) . I have had a bit of paintwork done, a new windscreen, tyres and well you may have read the thread... I had always fancied a vehicle with ...
