Re: Number 58!

I've got someone coming to view it Sunday. I'm not desperate to sell it but don't see where in my life it will fit in if I keep it. I've advertised it on the Facebook group at £750 as a rolling project with it still having 2 months MOT left. It's not a show winner but nor is it a heap. It needs some...

Re: Number 58!

Well after a lot of indecision I'm putting this up for sale.

The truth is I've moved on and it's not being used. I'll put up some more details later on.

I have a MK2 827 manual that I would consider selling if you're actually considering another?

Re: Number 58!

There's no noises or anything.

I think I'd just not noticed in the past.

We'll see. I need to form a plan on the suspension first. If I can't find a happy medium anything else is irrelevant tbh.

Re: Number 58!

I've given this a lot of thought and I think it's actually that the steering is over assisted.

So when I said slow, I think that it's how it's making it appear in my head.

I remember people complaining about this year's ago but never noticed it when I was driving them all the time.

Re: Number 58!

These were definitely too large. They slid over the splines of the shaft so no way they'd lock into the groove to retain the joint. The replacements turned up today, not bad to say I only ordered them at 16.45 yesterday! They were a much better fit diameter wise but wouldn't compress enough so I tri...

Re: Number 58!

So, more fun and games. 🙄 I ordered new snap rings from Rimmers which arrived very quickly. Unfortunately they're wrong. 🙄 The ID of the ring is exactly the same as the OD of the shaft, so there's little hope of it staying put and doing its job. After speaking to them, aside returning them they coul...

Re: Number 58!

I'll look into the upper arm bushes once I've got it all back together.

I wasn't looking to do all of it in one go as I was trying to isolate the noise I can hear but things escalated. 🙄😂

Re: Number 58!

A few jobs in and I'm already missing my spares. 😭 Partly because of old fixings and partly it allowed me to prep things before doing jobs. I'm now having to do what I can whilst keeping the car in one piece due to other cars and access I can't leave it stood immobile. Anyway, so far; I've had the u...

Re: Front struts Wanted

I'll have a look Chris, think i have a pair in the shed somewhere. Might have a door handle too but can't be sure on the colour. Apologies for not replying sooner. My other half's grab hs been badly. I have now sourced some struts off a guy on the Facebook group. I'll add pics on the cars thread. J...

Front struts Wanted

I'm looking for a used pair of front struts to rebuild with new shocks and springs to save having my car off the road while I do it. I would even consider a decent used sey with lowering springs as think I'm going to go that way with it. A drivers door handle or even drivers rear door handle in Nigh...

Re: Thoresby Hall - 30 08 21

Oddly only a few months back one drove round the block where I live. Nightfire red too, not mine though.

I only even spotted it due to checking my CCTV, it happened to be in shot at that specific time. What's the chances of that?

Before that, hard to say. A good while for sure.

Thoresby Hall - 30 08 21

A couple of pics from a local show I went to.

A few people asked about it, I have a feeling a lot of the younger ones possibly didn't know what it was?

Re: Astra Twintops I've Owned So Far

That's the plan for the minute. 👍 Though I'm not looking to go to the levels of 800 parts I had. A 4 wheel trailer is what I'd like. Trucks are too expensive to keep for my limited use. You're looking at £1000-1500 for insurance alone when I last checked. Plus upkeep of an extra vehicle. With having...
