Re: Alucard7002 - Mk2b 820Si Fastback - Pic Heavy!

Wee update. As you may or may not be aware I lunched the Diff bearings on my 820. I had in my garage a KV6 PG1 'box (hen's dentists I know! Thanks Dave!) I bought a PG1 diesel 'box off eBay. Thus a one of a kind CS6DTUTH is born! Diesel on the left, KV6 on the right. https://lh3.googleusercontent.co...

Re: Breaking 1997 Vitesse Fastback

Rear ARB is available, as is the front one.

Next stage of Vulturing the Vitesse should see the rear suspension stripped down and the last of the oily bits recovered.

After that I'm leaving it to Steve and Dave to pull the interior out and strip the rest of the shell ready for scrapman.

I like the idea of water jacketing the injector spuds - very neat idea!

Manifold will be warm enough and the TB is far enough away from the injectors for me not to be concerned about the throttle icing up.

I LOVE the fact you had a genuine "My dog hit the BIN not me" moment :-D

Jesus Dave, did Sasha slobber all over your keyboard? :-D

I was thinking of wrapping the intake manifold in coils of 8mm copper pipe to make an "Old-Skool" heated intake manifold.

But that's a thought experiment for another day.

No photo of bent valves but within the fly cuts on the piston for valve clearance you could see a slight shiny ring on #1 and less obvious on 2&3. It is amazing I did 40 odd miles on such a buggered engine before it puked all of it's oil out of every orifice. Had I hooked up a life support IV of oil...

Re: My Mum's new Clio

Goggle Drive? :?  :D I think it depends what you want it for, onedrive and Google drive seem okay for storage, but they are not easy to create links for this site. Google drive/photos is useless unless like me you were lucky to get in early enough. Google used to have Picasa web albums...

Re: Alucard7002 - Mk2b 820Si Fastback - Pic Heavy!

So a small update. As well as managing to blow up my Vitesse I now have killed the diff bearings in my 820  Usually it's the Vitesses that eat diff bearings but this time it's the 820's turn. I have a KV6 Torsen equipped manual in the shed already. I have just won a 620 diesel gearbox on eBay ...

I'll grab a photo for you when I'm next up there pulling bits off.

It's perfectly serviceable but it's starting to fail where the strings attach and on one side of the hinge.
