Now it is getting warmer, I have put TB2 in storage and brought out the Coupe - it has Air Con.
I started to look in the boot for the sunroof drains to see where the water is getting in. Any tips as I couldn't see anything at first glance? Nothing in the manual.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
The damage on TGMs bumper is not terminal. Bit of tlc should restore it. Not today though. It's been snowing here in East Yorkshire! Battery died on TB2 so I was glad I swapped it out on Friday afternoon. It had been left flat a few times when at the garage so that will have finished it off. Windows...

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Picked up TB2 today. Camshaft oil seals done and new cam belt while it was off. Let's see if the drips on the drive stop.
Oh, someone has backed into or hit the front bumper on TGM while parked. Recently painted bumper now cracked and paint lifted.

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Well Dave, your "Psychic Mechanic" status is alive and well as I just needed to put a bit of fluid in the reservoir to cure the flickering warning light on TGM!
No leaks visible, possibly just pad wear.

The rear floor was soaking in the Coupe.
Funny but our Fastback (TGM) is dry, but haunted!

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Now TB2 is MOT'd and behaving, I am getting some bodywork tidied up in April. I therefore decided to get the Crankshaft oil Seal (or Oil pump seal) repaired before it went in. The garage has just called to say it's not the crank/oil pump one but the camshaft seals. Luckily Rimmers have them at a few...

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Boot Latch sorted! I took the latch and solenoid out and it seemed to be OK. Plunger on solenoid working and springs on latch OK. Put it back together and it still wouldn't latch shut. When my son triggered the switch, I could see it operating when I latched with a screw driver. Now I had pulled at ...

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupe
Boot won't shut. Makes the correct noise when the button is pressed but no movement on the latch. At least it's stuck in an open position and not shut! I'll have to whip it out to have a look.

Re: Alternate Brake Master Cylinder
MGTF with ABS does fit the Rover 800. You just have to cut off the blank on the feed to the clutch system.

Re: Alternate Brake Master Cylinder
Ha! I have a "universal" one that doesn't fit. It sort of works if you have someone holding it... Just got a text saying it will be delivered around noon today.scoobyh123 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:08 pmFingers crossed now Scott! Just need a pressure bleeder now................

Re: Alternate Brake Master Cylinder
Thanks Dave!
I have another second hand one coming from MGNTFBITS for a reasonable £15 so I think I'll order a seal kit to rebuild the original for a spare or for any other distressed Rover 800 owners. As it is fitted to MGTF and Rover 800, I'd have thought there would be loads out there?
