Re: Mercedade's '97 Vitesse Lux
Good, solid MOT pass just achieved this weekend, Going back for a CV boot as the only advisory - it looks a bit sorry, and it's a job I hate so don't mind farming it out to the pros. Tester also pointed out to me some tired looking D-bushes for the ARB, plus the ARb itself being slightly out of alig...

Re: Number 58!
When you say the ride is terrible, do you mean crashy and firm? Or something else? Asking for a guy who is unhappy with the overly-light feel at the front end of his 800...

Re: Number 58!
Let us know how you get on with the floaty front end - I've never been totally satisfied with mine, despite new lowering-ish springs, ARB links, etc.

Nice offer, and a shame as I could really make use of some fastback carpets!

Cracking news, Chris. It'll be a nice chance to get your brain whirring again, back on such familiar territory.

Also (and I know I sound like a stuck record), but check and double check your negative/ground/earth connections. Favourite for random non-starts for me was one on the bottom of the gearbox working slightly loose. Edit: Also, also - the spade connectors on the starter itself can get crusty and/or lo...

Re: BMC day Gaydon 2021
Yeah, I think the same for me to be honest. It's badly timed as it's close to when I have to head south, but not close enough to make a longer trip out of it

Re: BMC day Gaydon 2021
I'll be honest, I've never really considered taking my car to shows! I know it's a rare car, but I've always felt the bumper lets it down (and my own decisions re: originality would bring out the grumpies).
What is the deal with Gaydon? Do you have to book?

Re: Mercedade's '97 Vitesse Lux
Thanks Adrian, looks like that will be perfect for what i need! A 24mm nut you say? They must have beefed them up at some point! Is it all nice and quiet now and running as it should? Yep - all looking pretty decent. And yes, definitely 24mm. I can remember that, because I run out of ring spanners ...

Time to swap alternator pulleys https://i.postimg.cc/5tSKPkrf/20210615-152523.jpg No need to fuss about with cranked spanners etc. 24mm socket and an impact gun. Brrrzzzzzzz.... Re: Fastback's cars.
Adrian - i've just answered your final query on the other thread, about the blue wire, not sure how i missed your query but apologies for that! Using a switch on the blue wire to bring the relay on will preserve the fan on with A/C as well. Dave, I'm not sure you missed anything at all! Useful info...

Re: Fastback's cars.
Mark - I had exactly this and had to abandon the ECU switched function. In the end, it was just too unreliable - I know it did work when I first got the car, but I couldn't be confident that it would work everytime. I was fortunate because the radiator, despite being the correct size for the Vitesse...
