Well done for making the effort and thanks for putting up the pictures.
A Rover 800 won best in show, that must be a very nice car.

Re: Mercedade's '97 Vitesse Lux
After seeing your leaking metal brake pipe video it made me take a closer look at mine, although a bit corroded I never considered them a risk. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51207735845_7a4cec411b_c.jpg Going to replace both sides on mine, I recommend you all check this pipe carefully. Are you...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Couple of years ago I made a full size battery tray to sit in the rear footwell but for track days when the car is in "lightweight" mode I need to mount the 5kg Redtop battery, the previous mount wasnt suitable so bought a so called proper Redtop 20 battery holder. https://bluengreen.net/IMG5768%209...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
I wanted to change the steel bolts and washers that secure the front wings to the body with something different, 7 of the 8 came out fine but one of the captive nut clips broke and dropped into the inner wing box section when the bolt was removed, there is no way to get it out or fit a new one with ...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
It is another item on the list to keep an eye on Dave. With those brackets removed it needed painting so ended up rubbing down most of the rear interior https://bluengreen.net/IMG3491%20900px.jpg https://bluengreen.net/IMG3484%20900px.jpg https://bluengreen.net/IMG3481%20900px.jpg Painted stealth sa...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
I thought about that too before removing them and considered leaving part of them in place but the turretts themselves are very solid, double and even tripple skinned in sections, those brackets were quite independent and spot welded to the turrets and only in a couple of places near to the C pillar...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
Update to the dash and electrics. Some time later it looked like below, still a mess but lots changed, wiring removed and rerouted. Where the SRS module was now mounts a new relays and fuses panel for an electric water pump for the turbo switched on the dash, NX relay moved from engine bay, interior...

Re: Re: 1994 BRG Vitesse Fastback
The pipe is the same diameter from top to flange, I cut round the flange weld leaving the welded part in place then welded the new piece it. see page 23 of this thread. For the dimensions if I remember right it is symetrical but fairly simple. Tricky part was getting it rotated to the correct positi...
