Unexpected changes
Well, quite out of the blue, I'm about to become an ex-827 owner. It's all happened remarkably quickly, but I've accidentally bought myself a replacement boredom-machine* and, as ever, I can't keep two cars on the road at once, so the Hooligan needs to go. I didn't really have this planned, but I ne...

Re: Brad's CLEAROUT
Hi Brad,
Good to see you the other day, hope the rest of your journey went well.
If the rain ever lets up, I might get outside and fit the new grille and get the wheels and tyres sorted!
Much appreciated as ever - see you soon.

Like others have said more eloquently before me, that's very sad to hear. My thoughts are with all who knew him.

Re: Vacuum pipe
Great idea.
In that case, I'm assuming some kind of water pipe (fish tanks etc) would be good enough?
Off to a garden centre/hardware shop for me then!

Vacuum pipe
Have just been reading the article on PGFMI from the Car Mechanics mag that used to be on a few sites and reading about how the MAP sensor vacuum pipework is so crucial. Although I can't see any problem with mine, the article suggests even a pin hole could throw it out. With this in mind, it's got t...

Re: My clearout
What about (deep breath) MAP sensor, air temp sensor and coolant temp sensor, mixture adjusting potentiometer Main ECU I know some of this should probably be bought new, but having to change so much at once I'd rather get secondhand, especially as I've got no idea if any of this will work anyway! PM...

Re: Mk1 827SLi Manual - AKA "Hooligan"
Update time: I've had this back since February and have been piling on the miles. It's been behaving itself remarkably well, a couple of niggles along the way: Brake pads changed - realised that the ones that came off were Green Stuff (not fitted by me), whereas the ones I fitted were Unipart. The b...

Re: My clearout
Good to meet you Chris - went away a happy man with some new things to play with. Trip computer, wheel nuts, front pipe, leads and dizzy cap, wiper motors x2, window pack, clutch slave cylinder and blower motor. Worth the little trek across the peaks - quite a nice drive out and good "silly things I...

MAP sensor
Anyone got a MAP sensor from a Mk1 827 available? Can't think of any reason why it should matter if it's from a manual or auto, so I don't care. It lives in the control box of magic on the passenger side of the bulkhead under the bonnet. Would also like the number 4 vacuum pipe with it if it's in go...

So far so good anyway. Haven't signed in yet just incase it doesn't work. I miss the new the posts then Just as an aside, one thing I've noticed since the forum upgrade is that new posts remain 'unread' for as long as you don't actually read them. Used to be really bloody irritating that logging on...

Re: Mk1 trip computer - large
Hi Richard, Cheers for the offer, but I reckon yours is about the same as mine by the sound of it (numeric section has bled under the screen) To be honest, I'm probably best off not being able to read what my "Ave. Cons" is (it'd only upset me) but I do secretly want it working. Thanks for the offer...
