Re: Mk1B Sterling Manual

No. I won't sell these early cars. I'm glad no offence was intended but I do find it strange why people see fit to judge my actions and decisions and seem so sure what I'm likely to do. It's flattering really but I don't see any other member of this board subject to such scrutiny. Anyway, enough sai...

Re: Mk1B Sterling Manual

Thank you for the insightful comments. I'm not sure what part of "gauging opinion" and how I'd made it obvious earlier that I would only sell this to an enthusiast wasn't clear. Having some sort of public berating like this I find rather off and frankly why I have to justify my position to anyone I'...

Re: Mk1B Sterling Manual

I'd be looking for around £1600, Rich. I had a few hundred quids worth of work done to it after purchase (new clutch fitted, wheel bearing done, plus other things that have totally escaped my mind). Everything works on this car except the a/c. I had it regassed, it lasted a few months and stopped wo...

Mk1a Sterling wheels

Potentially as likely as seeking out teeth in hens, but I thought it worth asking... Has anyone got a set of these wheels, also ideally with the centre caps, the same style as modelled here by my old 827 'DIL' they want to sell? http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp264/carmadalex/DIL/20062010883.jpg...

Re: 2x RATTY MK1s for sale

Well real life got in the way and these two heaps are still sat around taking up space. Those who have PMd me for small parts from these cars I'll see what I can do. These cars will be sent to the crusher in the middle of October - any small items required I'll take off and can bring to NEC if you'r...

Re: Mk1B Sterling Manual

As you are all aware I've collected a number of these cars this year and I'm getting to the stage where things are a bit crowded. For the right sum I could be persuaded to part with this car - it's not seen much use since I bought it and it's silly having it sat around unused. I'm also getting a col...

Re: 1987 Rover 825i D64JEA

I'm trying to resist this, massively. And failing. It's fortunate it's got that grille and incorrect bumper on it else I'd have made a call already. Being honest I think it's too dear (had it not got the incorrect items as discussed I'd not say this), but honestly I guess it's a case of "find anothe...

Thanks Mo and as much as I'd like to say "yes please" I do need to draw a line and give someone else a chance

I also know that with better pictures I'll want the thing beyond the point of being able to resist!

Re: 1987 Rover 825i D64JEA

That's gorgeous. I remember back in the day when it was popular to try and make your mk1 look like a Mk2 by throwing on an R8 grille. Never liked it - looked dire then and as bad now (IMO). Still it's an easy thing to sort. That car is exceedingly rare. Had I not just bought the D reg 820 in an iden...

Re: 1990 Rover 820e £$!@%

I will, but not because of the price, but because I prefer the earlier cars! It's lovely, and whilst the price might be a bit on the optimistic side, as I've said before it's time these mint cars were priced to reflect their condition but let's not go too OTT. Overall, I'd say that's a strong ...

Re: NEC CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW 15th, 16th & 17th November 2013

Well, better late than never... I've now got a working computer again and have been in the middle of doing NEC paperwork and sorting the stand plans out. I had an excellent response to my request for people to offer their cars, and thank you to everyone who put themselves forward. I'd love to say ye...

Re: 1989 827 Sterling F64 TKV £495!!!

Cheers. TBH at £450 and at this age, a 'demerit' mark such as CatC or whatever is academic in my view. If the car's nice then that's the main thing.

Possibly explains why it's got the wrong badge on the rear...
