Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupes
Yes 98 on a V. That can't be right. Must be at least a '99 on a 'V'. My Sterling is a 'T' plate registered on the 16 August 1999 (who the heck registers a car then?). 'V' plate came in from 1 September 1999 and ran until end of February 2000. It is highly possible that the car was made in 1998 but ...

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupes
Surely that's a 1998 or 1999 car though?

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupes
You'll need the ECU, CCU, reciever (fag-packet size box under the back end of the centre console) and the key from the donor for the transponder (dangle it on your key ring but use your own key to operate the steering lock/ignition) and obviously make sure that when the donor ECU etc is removed, the...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
You're welcome Henrik, as the fault isn't so obvious with the newer ECU, i'd suggest there is probably a latent fault with the original ECU and probably an intermittent wiring fault or the CPS is beginning to go. Sometimes faults like this can be the result of two or more items going slightly out of...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
The Legend 2.7 usees the same CPS Henrik, yes. The kangaroo cut-outs could be down to the old ECU but there may be a wiring problem too, the CPS doesn't often fail although it can do. I believe (though not 100% certain) the 1996 on Accord V6 (USA model) uses the same sensor in the C27 engine, not to...

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Now you've put some distance on it Henrik, try resetting by pulling fuse S again, it may be an anomaly that triggered it again, especially as it ran well for that distance. I'm guessing it gave good fuel economy on the trip as well?

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Update on the PGMFI-light. I got a replacement ECU about a week ago and today I managed to swap it with my old. At first the light went on and I couldnt get it out But when I returned home I made new resetting by pulling fuse S and after that the light is off! I have only driven it for a few short ...

Re: Thunderbird 2, The Green Machine & Turbo Coupes
I have a hunch based on Dusans comments further up. Get the garage to change the LPG switch to petrol only, let it warm up for ~15 minutes on petrol and then switch over.
See if that improves matters............

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Fingers crossed it solves your problem Henrik, those CKP sensors are NLA (some places in the USA occasionally have aftermarket versions but rarely) but luckily they are usually reliable. The ECU could have been partly immersed in water if the sunroof ever leaked or it could just be a dry joint in it...

Dave, you can discard my PM. I’ve found the ECU and it’s the one I thought. Your link is probably the wrong one But I’ve found the correct. 37820PL2B03 There are a few available from Spain which is perfect. I need to understand the serial numbers though as they differ. Any ideas? I've just read and...
