Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
I've never had any problems with the wipers. While I had thought the fusebox maybe due for checking again, I'm also under the impression that the window ecu has been ingressed with water.

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
That sounds like a fusebox problem to me Charles. You should be able to get the windows back up with the "Lazy Locking" - just hold the key in the lock position in the drivers door until both windows and sunroof are shut. Alternatively, hold the lock button on the fob, the LED starts flashing fast ...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
Thats what I thought as well Dave. Its just Im also having problems with the windows. I've found if i take the battery off for a certain length of time, the electric windows work when the controls are pressed. Sometimes all windows stop working. It's inconvenient when I put them down, whilst driving...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
I'm really surprised the car never overheated before. I begin to wonder if this was the cause of my headgasket failure 6/7 months ago.. The Nissens radiator (courtesy of Rimmers) wasn't a straight forward plug and play. The brackets needed adapting to fit the car, as did the fan. When it was install...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
I bought the car back in 2013. At that time, I knew I would never find another decent(ish) 2 door V6 with a manual gearbox. That was back then. It was my intention from the start, to buy the car for keeps sake. Yes it's caused me some fair grief with financial burdens over the last 6 years, and vari...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
https://i.postimg.cc/9zsrVfZt/20190630-073249-HDR.jpg This morning, I was up early and felt raring to go for a short(ish) drive and a half hour walk. I went to historic Saltaire and it was beautifully warm and sunny at times among the clouds. The coupe is having its new rad and other bits fitted th...

Re: apologies for all the questions
Even in the late 90s an older 800 could be had for £200/300.

Re: apologies for all the questions
The market for 800s generally speaking has never been a certain positive/negative used market.

Re: apologies for all the questions
It wouldn't surprise me you've had offers. These coupes are rare and attract attention whereever they go. I was offered 5k for my car by a couple of lousy sales men at Lancaster Jaguar. I might have said yes if they offered me a test drive in the F-type like I asked. They lost out on both a jaguar s...

Re: apologies for all the questions
It would be really great if this coupe returns to the road when given the tlc it needs.
A very rare example now in this colour. Charlston Green I think?

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
Exactly, the prices they very often quote for new (old stock) items, are 20 years out of date. And when it comes to perishable items like rubber, it's very unreasonable that Rimmers still demand high prices. It's because they know they have the large monopoly on 'classic' parts that they can commit ...

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
The 'stat you've got will be fine, how much are Rimmers after for the gasket/'stat with gasket? £19.99 as far as I remember Dave. Ecky thoomp! That's painful!! You have a PM as well Charles! :D Yeah, just abit, but then Rimmer Brothers are like that from my experience. I did ask for ...

Re: Mk2 interior
3D printing has been a very interesting hot topic of recent times.
I guess if there is the possibility of a forum member acquiring such a machine, it will mean small or any number of part batches can be reproduced at viable cost.
That has to be fantastic for any car owners with rare cars.
