Looks like it's been/in a big city most of it's life? I'd take the Aston Martin in the background, sell it, buy the Rover and live off the rest of the cash for a few years :P

as its USA i take it 55 mph
Mostly around 60, speed limits vary from 55-65. I do find putting the a/c on drops the instantaneous figure by approx 3mpg.

On a recent 160 mile round trip, 90% freeway, the trip computer read 28.5mpg federal, that's without a/c and the front windows down so approx 34mpg imperial, i've had 30mpg federal/36mpg imp on a one way 40 mile freeway trip, not bad for a 17 year old 2.7 V6 Rover, sorry Sterling :D

Good on you Rich, i'm guessing it was one of the smaller bits? The great thing about return policies over here is that, for example Walmart have a 90 day return policy on most things, min of 14 for computers, gps etc, so buy, use, then return, repeat as many times as you like, heck even Costco have ...

I've tried contacting American Sterling owners over the years. Until the internet web thingy started a while back, this was difficult. I have made several contacts (mainly businesses selling British car parts in the States) and they know about our 800 "club" here in the UK. Not much has happened an...

I prefer the other Sterling, the last of the line before MK2 had the small trip computer and different seats.

More in keeping with the "original" 800's :D

Was it actually getting hot or just the gauge as Chris said? I doubt the rad will be blocked like my one was Rich, they usually rust out first over there, it could be the bottom metal pipe thats rusted through causing it to get hot and pressurise? Is it tappy when hot? I'll try to catch you on msn l...

That does look very nice and has already had some interest (About 3 Bids) I've got my eye on this one, but I dont think I'll be able get on with the colour. Lord Sterling Not even when it's the same colour as the Tony Pond IOM 100mph average lap? Convert it to manual and you'll have a clone, can't ...
