It's worn a variety of wheels over the years, clearly. Not bad looking though, I wonder what bigger problem lurks...

Re: My Series 2 Sterling purchase

Lovely looking car, an excellent acquisition. Mk2 aircon is one of the best you will ever see in an "ordinary" car But perversely, one of the worst blower fans. Even with the air-con on, fan up to max and aimed solely at the windscreen, it takes a lot longer to clear the screen in my Vitesse than in...

I'm all for democracy, but I'm not sure that 3 of us yet constitutes a silent majority :)

Obviously if it did happen, I'd have no complaints...

Re: Forum appearance changes

Figured it was probably a by-product of something else! :)

I honestly don't know, but my guess would be sub-silver2 based on a cursory Google investigation.

Thanks

Forum appearance changes

Morning all, The forum looks different! WAAAAAAAAAAA! I've had a distinctly lo-fi skin/theme applied to this forum for the longest time and now it's reverted to the default glossy-and-shiny version, which whilst very nice, isn't as easy to read for me. And now I can't find the option to switch the s...

Re: 1999 Mazda Xedos 9 Miller (2.3 V6 supercharged)

That's an exceptionally tidy looking car - surprisingly good looking too, not one I've really noticed before.

Hope you get the sale you're looking for, sorry to hear of the circumstances.

The twin turbo Galant estate? Colossal boot and mental quick. Not sure if manual though.

Sorry I can add nothing to this except good luck! If I ever had the space for more than one car, I'd be booking my train now.

Re: Various parts for sale - Alloys/Radio/Exhaust back box

The Vitesse does have a larger bore - the presence of the turbo means back pressure is undesirable, so the larger pipe size allows the exhaust gases free passage to the heavens, whilst the n/a cars can afford (and indeed require) a more regulated flow of gases away from the cylinders, meaning a smal...

Re: New guy here

IMHO I dont know why you would want to mess with the boost of the turbo if these cars are maintained properly and driven correctly then they perform very well. If you want to go racing or line the pockets of the chancellor then carry on and boost away Agreed - they perform very well indeed. To be h...

re: coolant cap, I've been using a Fiat Punto cap I picked up from a scrappy not so long ago. Fits the Volvo tank perfectly, runs a slightly lower psi as well, as at the time I was concerned about the rad.

I've long since replaced the rad, but the cap remains!

Re: New guy here

Or you could ignore it entirely and replace it with a £20 manual boost controller (although using a boost gauge is essential to set it). It'll give you better control over the boost as well, meaning you can have all 12 psi on hand (don't go higher) from lower down, rather than having to wait until w...
