Old Jags are nearly always small and cramped inside, despite being large cars. I have the same problem, at just 6ft.

Re: Today I have been mostly...........

That DB7 is gorgeous, I want one someday. They are a bit of a bargain now at circa £20k for a decent coupe, but still a bit rich for me at the moment. I bet the parts prices are eye-watering though.. I've never been in a db7 sadly, but I have been in an xk8 and although they share some bits, I think...

Re: Mercedes s class

Fantastic car, the best looking S-Class ever in my view. Pretty much a perfect car all round really, as long as you can accept the fuel consumption, but it isn't that bad, 22-23mpg around town and upto 28mpg on a long trip. Here is mine at Castle Howard in York during the snow. Hardly anyone (Staff ...

Re: Any mountain bikers here?

I built my current mtb bike myself out of bits I got mostly 2nd hand from Ebay. It is built for speed, strength and lightness, around a Cannondale front suspension frame. I got tired of the front suspension and now have rigid alloy forks. Mavic racing bike rear mech, FSA racing bike carbon cranks, S...

Re: Any mountain bikers here?

Nice bike. I've been a keen cyclist since I was about 7 yrs old. Had a major BMX obsession when I was in my early teens and BMX first came abouy, then got into racing bikes, then the last few years i've mainly ridden MTB's. Don't mean to offend, but im not sure your seat post mod is that safe! I had...

Re: Fuel tank 'gurgling'

310 BHP is apparently achievable. That's a LOT through the front wheels, I would imagine it will be a bit torque steery, should be a lot of fun though! I should think there are not many saloon cars that will keep up with that, especially in the mid-range when the turbo is properly on song. Always t...

Re: Fuel tank 'gurgling'

Hi Richard, I assumed blocked breather and looking at the tank in the boot, it seems quite a substantial pipe that goes from the top of teh tank to the filler neck. I tried putting a very thin plastic tube down it and it seemed not to be blocked. There is another breather that goes to something call...

Re: Fuel tank 'gurgling'

Volvo's are good. Never had a v70, but owned a 240, 480 and 940, all of which I liked. V70 is a nice looking car, especially the T5.

Re: Fuel tank 'gurgling'

Hi chris,

Hope so, it's a bit concerning hearing loud weird noises from the fuel tank...

BTW chris, have you decided on your next motor, or have you decided to keep the present ones?

Cheers

Fuel tank 'gurgling'

Strange gurgling noise coming from fuel tank, after ignition is turned off. Like air being released into water. I should mention that when I fill up with fuel, a bit of petrol often spits back out of the filler when I put the petrol pump nozel in the filler. Seem like there is a pressuring problem? ...

Very nice looking cars. What are they like reliability wise, i've heard some say good some say not so good?

Got to be very good value at £995 looking at the pictures, but too modern for me personally.

Re: Talk me out of it

OK. Following this thread you've talked me into getting a 740 myself! It'll go well with my 540... Good plan! I will be interested to hear how you would compare your 540 with the 7 if you get one. I think if you owned both, they would really compliment each other, the touring has the practicality w...

Re: Talk me out of it

One's you like. I think I fancy a period of variety rather than sticking to anyone thing. I have a hankering for a BM 740/750 an Audi A8. Variety is a good thing. Most makes of car have something different to offer, so it's interesting to compare and contrast. It's funny how some makes, you c...

Re: Talk me out of it

For one, there is a lot less to go wrong on a Five. Additionally, a 5 is less heavy, they did a manual, and it's quicker! The 740i has more gadgets, true, but providing you check everything works before buying, things tend to keep working, they are well built cars. I took my 740i to well ...
