Re: Some old shots

Just spotted this thread. Yes its Johns and unlike most vehicles that deteriorate with age, it is now probably better and cleaner than it was then. You should see the engine bay Thanks for the reply Kate, it stopped me dead in my tracks it was so striking. Really a stunning example, stopped quite a ...

Re: Our Jon R - Classic Car Buyer 31/7/13

Don't know the answer to that, but I remember noticing the rusty bits appeared in the same places from car to car. Re: Our Jon R - Classic Car Buyer 31/7/13

Yes I bought the car late November 1992.
The other cars I looked at before buying mine were Mk1s
and most had rust holes around the rear arch / sills and door bottoms.
The oldest would have been about 5yrs old.
At least I knew where to look for the weak spots.

Re: Our Jon R - Classic Car Buyer 31/7/13

Nice words, Dave thanks. Prior to buying this car I'd looked at a lot of 800's I almost missed this one,and it was at a garage only a couple of miles from home. When I saw it I did'nt want to look any further, although the price tag was a bit more than I had planned spending. Over the years It's giv...

Re: Shaun's Vitesse

Nice neat work there Shaun, and the zinc primer will help the repairs to last.
What paint did you use on the heat shield ?

Re: NEC 2013 (PICTURE HEAVY)

That Bugatti (? - second to last pic) looks like it's moving even though it's obviously stationary! Bugatti Veyron 16.4, looks a beast ! 8) There's also a few "ripe for restoration", i wonder if the owners will preserve them exactly as they currently are or restore them to a high standard? The Aust...

ArmorAll protectant spray (gloss), or Autoglym bumper & trim gel.
The gel is good if the plastic is in poor condition.
