Can honestly say I would be staggered if there was still a scrap metal yard in this country that was still paying £150 per car. Back last summer that was about the going rate but since then it has nose dived. Just before xmas yards would pick up for free and pay you nothing, last week I scrapped a 4...

Shame the man is loosing his yard tho, know exactly how that one feels. Have dealt with the guy before(220 coupe bits) he's okay and a bit of a Ro...

Whilst I applaud Honda's attempt to do its best for the workforce there are a couple of things that didn't get press coverage. Honda had already had a voluntary leaving scheme in force to shed 1000 workers, its unclear as yet as to whether that target was reached or will some men be receiving letters...

Couldn't agree more, the T Series would have made a much better choice and gifted the car with the kind of torque a K Series can only dream of. With hindsight it would have made more sense to leave K series as the small engine and develop T series in 1700 and 2 litre form that could pass eu2 and 3 em...

As regards KV6 Headgaskets I believe only the later type Rover 75 ones are available, early ones were superceded. I have only ever done one early KV6 on an 800 and that was back in 2002,most unfortunately have long since ended their days in scrapyards. Rover 75 KV6's only tend to suffer HGF if the ow...

There are 2 types of K series engine,as Richard has said it was only ever designed to be a small capacity engine and so in original form,1100,1400 it was designed with a closed top deck to the block and known as the wet liner version. It was a wholly Rover design and funded by us the taxpayer prior ...

Depends on the Dealer too. Do you know where he had it towed too. Usually the piston crowns survive but the valves will almost certainly be bent and maybe several valve guides cracked as well. Too have the head skimmed, checked and new valve guides/valves fitted will cost around £280 in glos, thats i...
