I saved £70 by going direct and when I tried to claim a Meerkat they said I wasn't eligible as I hadn't booked it with the CIS through their website. So, now I kn...

Re: Rescuing old DVD's and C/D's.
What interface does the CD drive have, IDE or SATA ? I'm sure I have a few drives spare and you could have one for the cost of postage. I even have one of the first CDRW drives too and a lightscribe drive (putting a lightscribe enabled disc the wrong way up andf you could burn text or images into th...

Re: Rescuing old DVD's and C/D's.
However i have drilled a 3/8" hole through a CD to prove it would still play afterwards and it did. That was 32 years ago though and things may have changed. :D You can cut 4 large radial slots in a CD and it will still play due to the error correction algorithm. Philips made a CD player whi...

Re: My 820 Tickford Turbo
I've still got mine too although she has an overheating problem at the moment. She's not using much, if any serious amount of water and she gets lumpy when she's up to temp. I have new cts and temp gauge sensors and a radiator to fit as operating the heater seems to assist with cooling. I'm also goi...

Plus the fact that there are few Mk1 800s on the road so it narrows the market a tad.

Re: bumpers anyone
I'm off to Rawtenstall on Saturday to see my parents. It looks like they're all MK2 types but I may pop along to have a look just in case there are Mk1 types too.

Re: Is anyone breaking a MK2 fastback without a sunroof?
I had a base spec 800 fastback with no sunroof, yes they did exist, but sadly she went to the scrappers after she was clamped by the DVLA for no tax as I was trying to get a couple of small jobs done to MOT her. Shame really as she was on her 303,000 mile mark and had full service history and the em...

I think it looks really cool with an 07 plate on it. It makes the car seem modern enough that the styling seems quite current.
