Hi all
I’ve been absent fir a few years but managed to get a nice 827 vitesse earlier this year but finally got round to changing headgaskets this month and it’s up and running.
Just need a header tank if anyone can help as mines looking iffy but it doesn’t leak yet.
Be good to get some shows with it in the new year
Thanks Rick

Re: I’m back with a 827 vitesse mk1
Welcome back Rick! What caused the HGF on it? Was it that someone had used OAT antifreeze in it?
I have a Volvo expansion tank that was on my Sterling for several years without any problems, only changed it to fit the later square type (slightly smaller but fits nicer)

Hi Dave
yes must have had no or wrong antifreeze...the headgasket had disintegrated and needed some welding but skimmed up fine and sounds lovely
what volvo one did you use
good to hear from you again

Based on that Rick, i'd say thw wrong antifreeze rather than none. Hope you gave it a through flush through?
I'll get a photo later of the Volvo tank, it's sat in my dining room at the moment!
