when i change the tail lights, i didn't see anything wrong, i'll take some pictures . yesterday i was looking for rusty on the sills and it's very clean.
Some times the pgm-fi turns on, the car smells a lot, i check the gas, co like 4.5% (the limit in the mot is 0.3) and lambda was 0.840 (mot 1 +/- 0.3). I know the ecu has a led but where is the ecu? some pics?
i've already read the buyers guide, is incredible, the electric windos sometimes doesn't work, now i know what can be

Sounds very like a Lambda (oxygen) sensor has gone - could be either the front or back one, as there's one in each manifold.
In the UK, the engine management ECU is under the drivers seat, i'm guessing in Spain (or any other Left Hand Drive country) it would be under the front passenger seat.
You might also want to try renewing the air filter element as well, i've found it is surprisingly restrictive even when only a little dirty!
Not sure where you got the Lambda value from but i'm guessing from the emissions tester you used and it should be a lot closer to 1 than it is. Our MoT Lambda value is 0.95-1.09 with a maximum CO of 0.5% so something is clearly wrong there.
Check your ECU for the code, then check the code against this very useful list here : http://www.rover800.info/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8288
That should tell you exactly what is wrong!

It will be under the right hand seat (passenger seat on your left hand drive car). The auto transmission ECU is under the other seat.edus-827 wrote:I know the ecu has a led but where is the ecu? some pics?

The Lambda sensors might be fine, you might just need a new air filter element. You won't know until you look at the fault codes. They're easy enough to change but you need small hands! Easily enough available and relatively cheaply too but you may need to change the connector on the end of the new one as the same sensors fit a variety of different cars so tend to be supplied with the most common connector which i believe is Vauxhall/Opel. No problem, just cut the Rover connector off your old sensor and swap it for the one on the new sensor, bingo!

Oh yeah, missed the filter! Lambda sensor faults tend to come and go in my experience, so could well be that. Have a look at the codes the red LED is flashing at you with the engine running or ignition on and go from there. Can't really say for usre until you know what's happening with the fault codes.
