What's your name?

Post by Richard Moss » Wed Dec 03, 2008 5:10 pm

Could I ask a favour of all members?

As this forum grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep track of who is who, especially when a username bears no resemblance to the member's real name. This is particularly difficult for new members and the last thing we want to do is look like an "Old Boys Club".

May I then ask if all members could add their names to their signatures? First name or most commonly used name will do - we don't want to be too formal, after all.

For me, it's easy, I use my real name as my username - but clearly some of you feel you have something to hide! :)

Thanks
Richard Moss
(Rich-by-name-only but never Dick!).

I was going to post something similar a while back.

I've done that for a long time now for this very reason.

I usually use IamMed as my user name on forums: I am Med, Med is what everyone calls me as it is a shortening of my surname however too many people dont seem to realise and just call me iammed or jammed or hammed lmao

*Chuckle Chuckle*

Makes little difference for me. Even my 'Wine Advisor' badge for work reads 'Vard'.

However,

...

Compliance!

Oh wait, Mike's already done it. Smegger.

*Edit*

Mike, would you mind capitalising 'Vard' again for me, you underhand, sneaky cad? You can adjust my Avatar tagline, too.

Does this not seem a bit silly for those that already have it in their username?
