Spray paint

Post by Dajazar » Tue Apr 09, 2019 2:52 pm

Hi all

Need you help again and advice. Can any tell me where I can get a rattle can of Azure Blue Metallic spray paint for my sterling?

Halfords don't stock any more and can't find it anywhere.

Is the paint code 629/JNW?

Is there anywhere that I would be able to get it mixed. Also what is the grey/charcoal colour on the bottom of the car and is the Mart Black for the windows pillars generic?

Trying to tart up the sterling
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Cheers
Tracy

Do you have any local automotive paint suppliers? There's 2 local to me and they would mix it there and then to match the code.

I believe there's some online ones but I have no experience of any to recommend.

The grey is called storm grey from memory.

For the black I always used satin black.

Give these people a try Tracy if you can't find a local autofactors or paint suppliers to mix it for you :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-PACK-2K-Ca ... 1438.l2649

If you select the "Basecoat Aerosol Kit" on the drop-down, that will get you some paint (400ml can i think it says iin the lisitng) and a similar sized can of clear coat lacquer. I used them a few years ago (can't remember which car it was for now) and the paint was spot on.

I'd guess your paintcode would be JNW although it may well be the 629/JNW that you have quoted.
Cheers,
Dave

As Chris says, many autopaint suppliers will make up spray cans for you.

I used generic satin black aerosol on it :)

I would suggest you find somewhere that will make up some paint up for you and where you can take your along. Whilst you might be able to have the original colour made up by providing the code it does not take into the colour of the paint now. After all this time there is a good chance the colour has changed a little, perhaps fading due to sun bleaching. This would be taken into account by a decent company that can mix the paint to the vehicle in the metal (so to speak}.
