Black Panel behind Windscreen Wipers

Hi,

Recent purchase of 825 Sterling Coupe has had me crawling over the bits I'm familiar with.

This Black panel is severely rusted and needs to be replaced (or sanded & painted - but would prefer a replacement)

If anyone has one, or knows a source for one, please let me know.

I can't remember the technical term for this part, but it's the full width of the engine compartment, and protects the wiper motor housing from memory. There are half a dozen circular black screw covers which pop on to make it a tight fit.

I think you mean the scuttle panel? It's a common issue. If so take a look at Rimmer Bros. you might find one there.

checked on Rimmers, the link given says its for an 88-91 model ?

I want it on my '98 Coupe .... will it fit ?

There's been a recent thread on this, a couple of the members suggest that despite the slight differences it should fit, I guess for £6 it's worth a go.

Rovercoup was going to try and fit one to his coupe, maybe it's worth a PM to see if it worked, or what he had to do to make it fit.

I did indeed fit mine and was very straight forward whole thing done in 30 mins. check the thread about these as Brad gave some very good advice.

Good luck in finding one. I tried everybody on the part search site and they had all sold there stock.

So I have had to repair my current one with a welded patch and some fillet.

Another 800 part thats obsolute with no common replacment like the petrol fillers.

Seriously, though, the mark 1 saloon scuttles will do the job. I have a few if you can't get one.

Thats auto check on the phone for you Brad. I checkef Thursday and all them listed didnt have them in.

Dont suppose you have any fuel filler pipes or alternatives to a leaky one do you Brad

I do have quite a few fuel filler pipes but none for sale, sorry.

I have even more scuttles if you want one of those.
