Thanks Dave, you're a star for helping with this.

The original link you sent me for the cam sensor, I've ordered the bit and they want more info now. I've sent them VIN, registration etc but they have asked this:

"In order for us to find the compatible part for your vehicle please send us the original part numbers which you can get from a local dealer or mechanic,

as this will ensure 100% compatibility of the part with the vehicle."

I sent them the link to RimmerBros but apparently this is not enough. Where would I get the part number from please?

Here you go Chris 37840PL2026 - that should be the correct Honda part number.

Unfortunately not. I gave them the part number and surprise surprise it's been discontinued . Back to square one i think.

At least I got a refund .

Curses and naughty words! Only others i can find just now are on USA ebay aka ebay.com :

All about $200 which is about £130-140 depending on exchange rate and not sure on the postage.

There was another in the UK that i found for about £115 but that seems to have disappeared off the radar too. There's a genuine one in the USA for $128.74 (about £80-90) but not sure about shipping costs :

Just as a matter of interest i've had my ABS light come on a few times today, probably just a sensor or something, do you know if this is common?

I also went to an MG meet in Downham Market today and found another 800 Mk1 owner, i'll post the pic once i've got it uploaded onto Dropbox

I didn't know there was an MG meet in Downham, might have to go to that at some point.

The ABS light could be anything from a sensor giving up the ghost to dirt on it. There is a procedure for self-diagnosis which flashes the ABS light on the dash to give a code which can be cross referenced. I@ll try to find it later and post it up although i'm sure it's on the forum in other places more than once.

Just hope you can get sorted with a CPS from one of those sources!

Nice pics there! That black Mk1 Sterling is a local car too judging from the reg (EW being Peterborough if memory serves) - nice to see a car that hasn't travelled very far from it's original registration area.

Just as I thought the Cam sensor and ABS sensor was enough i've discovered my radiator has sprung quite a large leak today! Rimmers have none in stock as usual. So now the hunt starts.....
