Wanted, Rear Bumper for a Rover 800 Hatchback

As if I've not got enough to worry about with my Wife being in Hospital with Double Pneumonia and a serious Gastric infection, while I was in visiting her, some rotten so and so smashed into the back end of my car while it was sitting on a Disabled Bay, yes, I am disabled with a Legal Blue Badge, but, they even had the brass neck to lift all the broken body work that had fallen off, I suppose in a vain attempt to make it look as if nothing had happened, good job I had to put my wheelchair in the boot, or I'd never have seen it, so......

I need quotes for a Rear Bumper for a 1999 Rover 800 hatchback, in British Racing Green, if possible, many thanks -

Hi Bill

Can you find the paint code please, it's on a plate by the front passenger door, if you open the door, it's on the centre column, just above the sill.

It should be HAF or HNA, however, knowing Rover it could be something completely different.

The bumpers are the same across the range so at least that widens your scope for getting one. I know exactly how you feel though - my coupé was whacked on the front bumper not long before xmas.

I hope both ladies in your life (your wife and 800) make a full recovery very soon! Might be worth asking the hospital if they have any CCTV footage of the "Waste of Oxygen" that dinged your car - you may be able to get some sort of reimbursement from them.

Wouldnt worry to much about the motor at the moment, as long as its drivable.

Cheers for that, the paint code is HNA with the trim being SHJ,

Good news about the Wife, she's in great condition, she's responding very well to these stronger antibiotics the Doctor's have got her on, both IV and orally, her oxygen levels are now a whole lot better, so things are now looking up, and that lessens the strain

The paint code is on the plate at the bottom of the B post on the passenger side Dean (Open the passenger door and you should see a small square-ish plate) - should have Colour and trim codes, the trim should be SMJ on yours as it was Stone Beige but the green carpets might change things somewhat.

Trim would almost certainly have been SMJ, the paint code is the important bit here though. The code HAF works out to :

In other words, Pearlescent British Racing Green - Freds car is HNA which is British Racing Green. I wonder how different they actually look and if your bumper would look ok on his car without respraying it.

maybe not much difference in colour....

BUT, being a coupe it has the black bumper tops,

where as Bill or Freds is probably fully painted, seeing as its a 1999 Fastback
