Air Con Control Side Panel

Post by scotty2 » Thu Nov 15, 2018 2:59 pm

Looking for a beige panel that clips to the side of the heater controls on the dash for the Green Machine.

Its sort of 10x14 cm and faces the passenger side.

You'll know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean and it's not beige and not that big either! Got one somewhere that i dug out for that car, surprised it hasn't got one with all the spares that went with it?
Cheers,
Dave

Just to confirm, it's the bit on the mid left of this photo?

If so i'll have a look for it but fairly sure it went to the then owner for the spares stash that went with the car. :D

It's an airbag dash but that little cover that goes over the end of the instrument cluster/heater control housing is the same on both types of dash. I remember Dusan asking me for it before he sold it to Tom, sure i gave it to him, if not then i'll still have it somewhere. Something in the back of my mind says i dug it out for him, took it over only to find the Green Machine had already departed to the west country.
Cheers,
Dave

Yes the little cover on the left looking at the photo. Yes it is smaller than than I guessed!
I have had a look through the spares but didn't find it. I found the seat belt clip cover and have glued that back on so one less job...
If you come across it, let me know as it is spoiling the dash. I was supposed to be picking up from respray tomorrow but Bodyshop running late. Next week now.

It is an Airbag dash. The illumination for the temperature setting is very faint. Is it a "They all do that Sir" or do I need a new lamp?

I'll have a look - i might have another spare one floating around.

As for the Climate Pack, i assume it's still green on the display? Try turning the instrument illumination up (Dusan kept it very low, not sure about Tom) and does it get dimmer when the lights are on?

It's possible the LEDs are getting a bit tired now, or dirty but it used to be similar to mine shown above. I had to replace the LEDs in mine because they were cheap and they tarnished - never seen LEDs do that before so i'm guessing that being cheap, they used some regrind in the plastic housing.
Cheers,
Dave
