Front off side ABS speed sensor and adaptor

Post by musicalpyramid » Mon Apr 01, 2019 5:13 pm

Hello folks,

I'm looking for a front off side abs speed sensor and adaptor for my 1993 820. Happy to have a second hand unit so long as it works.

I thought I had found a used one on ebay, but when it arrived it turned out to be the near side instead. It is front off side I am after.

Regards,
Chris

as far as i know... the front sensors are the same , left and right.
its just the mounting bracket that is handed.
however they corrode in and are a B`stard to get out

Try this Chris :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-MGZR ... 1033272993

You'll need the N/S one as they're fitted the opposite way round on the later 2/400 and 25/45 and MG variants.

You'll probably need to drill, burn and other nasty things to remove your old sensor from the bracket, try and enlarge the hole the sensor sits in then polish it to a mirror finish, smear Vaseline or silicone grease (NOT sealant!) on the body (not the tip) of the new sensor to help prevent future corrosion which is what kills the sensors.
Cheers,
Dave
