Hi Tracy, is it the left or right flexi hose you need? Two different part numbers so they're different hoses.

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID004417

Items 11 and 12 for right and left respectively. THey have the left hand hoses in stock, right hand hoses are out of stock but you may find the equivalent hose on ebay using the part number as the search term.

Do you have the front shocks for it? For some reason at the moment, 800 front shocks are as rare as toilet roll :

https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ashika/11669035

They have several different makes, all out of stock last time i checked, same story with virtually every other supplier.
Cheers,
Dave

As Rimmers are out of stock of the right hand hoses, it might be an idea to try ebay :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAKE-HOSE-L ... 4634040367
Right Hand Hose ^^^^^

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRAKE-HOSE-L ... 4655462140
Left Hand Hose ^^^^^

I don't suppose your mechanic would like to share where he found the front shocks? I know at least 3 people (including me!) that would be grateful to know! None of us fancy spending £82+ per unit either!

Regarding the rear pads, does your mechanic know how to fit them correctly? I'm not questioning his general expertise but there are a couple of quirks when fitting them that, if omitted from the procedure, can cause failure of the caliper(s) and almost non-existent rear brakes.

The procedure is :

Slacken the handbrake cable (pop up the central trim in the rear centre console and loosen the locknut on the adjuster)

Remove the old pads in the usual way

Attach a one-way bleed valve to the bleed nipple and slacken the nipple.

Wind the piston into the caliper and close the nipple again.

Fit the new pads in the conventional way including refitting the caliper.

Operate the brake pedal several times until the auto-adjusters are heard to stop ratcheting.

Now (and only now) adjust the handbrake cable. Ideally use feeler gauges to determine the clearance between the handbrake lever on the brake caliper and the cam that operates the brake and set to 1.0-2.0mm by adjusting the cable. This should translate to 5-8 clicks of the handbrake lever to be fully on.

There is a travel of at least 11 clicks on the handbrake so there is still reserve travel left on the lever.

Any less and the calipers won't have the clearance they need to work so will seize up, compromising the handbrake and service (foot) brake.

I've heard of so many MoT failures on rear service and hand brakes on not just 800s but the Legends, Accords/600s and so on that use the Honda-derived braking system and so few mechanics know those extra couple of steps involving the handbrake cable, or the reasons why.
If your guy knows then great news, he's one of the few that does and apologies for "teaching my grandmother" but if he doesn't know, it could save you having new rear calipers, discs and pads a few years down the line.

Yes thanks, i think i've managed to avoid CV-19 although i did have the "Snot-Goblin from Hell" for the first two months of this year. Believe i caught it at Papworth when i went for a scan on NYE, one of the people doing it was Chinese and had just come back from China!
It was unheard of then (here at least) and if i did get it, it was the mild strain as i'm still here to tell the tale! Other than that, i'm in training for Hermit of the Year Awards! :P

Good luck with getting the other bits and pieces and getting a fresh MoT! :D
Cheers,
Dave

You're welcome Tracy and any info on the shocks would be greatly appreciated thanks!

The first link in my post above is for a RH brake hose on ebay, not a bad price either!

Glad to hear your guy knows his stuff! :D
