Brand new sills

Post by Fastback » Sun May 17, 2015 5:32 pm

We have just secured a batch of brand new full sills for the mk2 800 (would they fit mk1?). If anybody is interested they are coming in at £55 for a pair. You would have to collect or arrange courier, probably TNT (about £14) or WheelCarrier.co.uk, a specialist for car parts, or similar.

Properly fettled and with clear rear body drainage holes (they are filled in originally and that's why the sills rot), these should last longer than the originals.

Let me know initially in the thread and we'll sort it out.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, it is the drainage holes that are filled in not the sills, if they were solid they would be very heavy  !

Right, as I'm counting it that's 4 pairs in all, so far. No problems, there are only 20 pairs available from the batch, so anybody else? They will be available in a week or so. I'll try and PM contact details but my PM doesn't seem to be working right now, just sitting in the outbox. Does anybody know if there are problems with PMs or am I just being stupid?

PM's will sit in your outbox until the intended recipient logs into the forum and opens their PM, it will then move to your sent box and be deemed 'read', so it's probably working correctly.

Thanks for the update Mark.

I can take two more pairs of sills, if you find demand doesn't outstrip supply.

The order has been completed and we will be collecting them next week. I will send a contact PM to people (now I know how it is supposed to work  ). There are about ten pairs left depending on how many I/we need, so if there is anybody else, please let me know.

No they do not Robert, that is why I spent months getting sills re-manufactured last year. Do you need some?
