Coupé Spares - free to good home!

Post by scoobyh123 » Tue Jun 26, 2018 3:55 pm

Following the recent sale of my Coupé, i now have some Coupé-specific spares that i have no room to keep sadly.

Free to a collector or will send for cost of postage. Here's the list of bits, there may be a couple of other bits that i've forgotten but nothing large, in other words if i've forgotten something it can easily be fitted in somewhere!

Complete sunroof assembly
2 doors in BRG
Bootlid in White Gold 2
Fixed rear side glass/quarterlights
Door seals
Boot spoiler - not a Rover item, bought from ebay but it will fit and look good, think it's off one of those German 3-series things  :P
Pair of front wings. Will need slight repair in usual places but easier to repair/paint then fit.

I'd prefer the whole lot to go as one, i don't want to be faffing about with a bit here, a bit there etc. If you have a Coupé then at some point all of these will come in useful.

If you're interested, drop me a PM and we'll go from there. I hate to say it but if there is no interest, they will firstly go on ebay and if they don't go from there, sadly to the scrap man as i can't justify the space they're taking up. :(
Cheers,
Dave

Update/bump to this thread - the wings and bootlid have gone, the rest is still available but won't be for too much longer.
I'm seriously struggling for space and as such have to keep some of it outside. However with the bad weather coming, keeping them outside will just make them rot.

Do i wait and sweep them up into the bin at some point in the future or give them to the scrap man? I don't want to do either, i'd much rather give them to someone that will use them, or at least store them safely until they're needed.

I've already kept them much longer than i expected to have to keep them, if someone wants them to sell on, just come and get them, at least that way they stay as useful items! :D
Cheers,
Dave

Sadly not Kyle, all my spare wheels went for scrap because although i had 10 of them, i couldn't make a set of 4 good ones! Never mind a 5th for the spare!

I do have a 15" steel spare, needs a new valve, tyre is passable, just, if that's any help to you then let me know. :D
Cheers,
Dave

No worries Kyle, depending whether you want them just for winter use and/or storage or nice use, you should be able to find a full set of Volvo S/V40 alloys on fleabay quite cheap, often with delivery included or you might find a really nice set for year round sue at more money.

Dave

I've got 15" Mk1 Prestige (x4) alloys advertised on Ebay. The four that I had refurbished have been on ebay well over 2 years with currently 3 watchers.
I've already reduced the price. I don't think reducing it further will make any difference. I've advertised free parts on the faceache group in 2017. Nobody came forward wanting those. :? It all went to the tip. :( And so I made the point in the fb group that because nobody wanted, the bits and bobs were binned. No outcry to that from anyone.

At one time owners would have been up in arms about parts being binned. That makes me think there is no care or interest in saving up the parts, particularly the obscure stuff.

To an extent that's always been the case with these cars I'm afraid Charles.

Believe me if you'd seen the stuff I let go you'd have been a lot more upset. I think aside a few people 800s are destined to end up very rare cars indeed.

What Chris said ^^^^^ Charles! Sad fact is most of the "Faceache Generation" have grown up viewing cars as disposable commodities so aren't interested in preserving spares or the cars themselves. They'll learn one day when they get older and realise they have nothing to show for their childhood/early adult years and nothing they can do to get anything.

Dave
