saw this earlier, don't look to bad, but if he saying its crusty then bet its bad in all the right places, interior looks nice, id have that for the right money.

Got it home.
It's not bad, borderline I think based on me doing the work
The top of the drivers A piller has rotted through taking the door rubber flange with it along half the length of the a post.
Headlinings badly stained so will need replacing unless it washes out which I doubt.
Stereo head unit is missing.
Needs a brake line and a bit of welding on one sill for an MOT also the electrics are pretty poor, doors, windows, sunroof ,all 4 seats and headlights don't work....I'm guessing fuse box.
Engine and box are great though, car needs paint so I'll be practicing on it this summer.
And some of the side trims are missing.
All in all its a worthwhile cause IMO.

Fair bit of work there but worth it when it's done. The Mk1s don't have the same sort of fusebox as the Mk2s usually although that one being a late one might have a Mk2 style fusebox.
Were you lucky and got one with the electric rear seats? Easy to tell by looking at the rear window switches - if they have two switches in each pack, one switch (the horizontal one) operates the seats.

if it has got electric rear seats, then your lucky, cos i emailed chummy who was selling it and asked him if it had them, if it did i would have bought it just to get the whole kit from it, but he never replied.

He probably suspected you would break it for the rear seats and wanted to sell it whole to someone who would put it back on the road Matt. Besides, ebays email/"Ask seller a question" isn't the most reliable!
