I thought recently that now's the time I rewarded myself with a brand new car, seeing as though I'm moving steadily up in my career path. I've never bought a brand new car before, but its the moment for something alot more practical, modern and fuel efficient. (not to mention cost efficient lol)

So I've gone for a Hyundai I10 because its an all round winner in the City Car segment, being voted What Cars best city car of 2015, as well as the great offer to buy one in the first place. (0%)
I've gone for the premium model, which puts rival cars of a similar price to shame - lots of spec for the wonga, among which; -

Bluetooth stereo (though sadly non DAB unlike the MG3),
variable cruse control,
traction control led front lights,
night time cornering safely lamps, front fog lamps
indicator integrated wing mirrors,
alloy wheels, tyre pressure monitoring system
Heated mirrors
Leather steering wheel
5 year unlimited warranty - the best bit

I'm happy with my choice, though if I had been prepared to wait longer, I would have gone for the one in metallic orange with a sunroof - (something I miss from the 800)

I'll still keep the 800 for pleasure use, rather then use it everyday, so at least this way I'll save on petrol. Having said that, I only managed 35mpg in the I10 yesterday. It is very nippy though, being just as fast as the coupe and actually (you wont like me for saying this) It's more refined with better road manners lol!

Very nice. I'd have gone for the Kia version though (the Picanto) with 7 year warranty. Having said that, its likely that my oh wouldn't be able to drive it as he needs lots of leg room so it would have been the Kia Rio for me

its missing the disabled sticker in the windscreen, but your getting the hang of parking it.

I've seen pictures of the Kia, but didn't bother to test drive that one. The I10 from general gossip and reading user reviews is built slightly better. I was due to test drive the Skoda Citgo, and made an appointment specifically. When I got to Skoda's showroom I waited 15 minutes only to be told the said car was 'unavailable to drive'. So on that basis I went straight down the road to Hyundai and didn't even need an appointment to test drive the I10, which I duly did and so put the deposit down the same day! Good choice now I think. The owners reviews of the Skoda have been underwhelming, with dim lit road lights and water leaks along the window channels. The smaller size of the Skoda and the dark interior however was enough to put me off the car.

Its a doddle to park. I found my 800 easy enough to park without sensors, so parking sensors would have been a waste of money in my mind, despite the sales person telling me that once you have parking sensors, you never look back.

Having said that they are expensive to fix in the long run if they go wrong, like my Dad found out with his 2003 Passat - a £400 bill to replace the sensors and some faulty box or other.

I'm only being funny, round our way its stoney faced pensioners that drive them, they've got reverse park sensors, and they never look back, come to think of it most of them never look forward either, whats the monthlies on it and how much was your deposit.

So the question is, where are these pensioners looking when they are driving lol! The deposit on the I10 was £3000 roughly, and the monthlies are £110 over 2 years, with a final optional payment of £5000. I took out a few extra covers, hence the higher price of the monthly repayments. I'll most likely buy the car outright so then I can sell it back for the market value.

We have a Kia Soul, bought new at the end of 2010 and it is brilliant. Spacious, reliable, economical and even suitable for reasonably long distances.

PPs, I bet it doesn't have an oil pressure gauge, a battery meter or at least an eight position seat with lumbar support.

Go on, take it back. you know you want to and you can spend the money better on paying someone else to fix your 827

No it doesn't it doesn't have any of those. The coupe doesn't have an oil pressure gauge or battery meter.

I'm getting good at fixing the 827 myself now as well
