Can't see that working in all honesty. The trailer is just at the width of needing extra mirrors so the lights would need to be a long way out to be out of sight.

Only ideas I have are using a relay off the reverse lights to switch them off when I reverse or just wire in a remote switch to do the same?

In that case the relay is probably your best idea - or turn your lights off when reversing?

I'll look into it properly when I sort the lights on the car and a new plug for the extra wiring.

Been a while since I've done much to the trailer.

I swapped the jockey wheel the other week as the original was getting ropey. Bought another the same as the one on the 800 trailer. Even though it sounds silly is so nice to use compared to cheaper ones that get notchy and hard work after a while.

One thing I'd been planning after finishing the wheel arches was to extend them front to back to make loading easier and stroring boards etc while needing the floor space.

More good work Chris!

If you hitched it up behind Dusans Transit you'd have an awesome combination! That has inverters, heaters, hot water and all sorts on it - ex-field service van for one of the electric companies i think. :D

Dave

Not much use to him as he wouldn't be able to stand up in it. :D

I'm still undecided power wise as lately I've bought several battery powered tools so the need for mains is far less than before. Plus as yet I haven't used it for working in only moving things.

I'll keep playing it by ear I guess. My next plan is tidy the wiring and fit a secure cupboard at the front. Along with streamlining the front end as I can really feel the drag in strong winds.

Tell me about it - you'd think a LWB High roof Transit would be tall enough for me to stand up in... NOPE!

Looks good Chris - out of curiousity what's it used for? Looks like a mobile workshop to my eyes.

I don't have that issue. :D It's only 1.8M inside which is enough for me with a little clearance.

It doesn't have a specific use as such, after the Transit we had died I realised a trailer would better suit me. Plus once built cost me no money to keep. So far it's mostly been used for fetching materials for extending my garage (again) and several UPVC doors for projects on the outbuildings and garage.

The mobile workshop side is there just in case really. I could work in it if I wanted/needed to.

Seems I might be building a mobile workshop after all?

Not great quality but saw this on offer the other day, it arrived today and I've done a test fit.

Chucked in a big old Record vice I had lying around as well. Just in case.

I think I've now decided I'm going to swap the lights to LEDs as I've stocked up on cordless tools over the last few months so don't need as much mains power as I expected.

So with one maybe two good sized batteries I should have more than enough for what I'll need.

Some of my tool collection, I've bought more since too.

Oooooh - how do you find the impact driver? I've got the drill and the driver is probably next on the list...

Very good so far though I've only used it on wheel nuts as yet TBH.

I didn't really need it but fancied one.

I bought the half inch drive one as well as the hex shank type which is more for fitting wall bolts and screws than can car work.

Both make jobs a lot easier.

Which batteries do you have?

Crikey Chris!!! That's a hell of a collection you have there! Were you a magpie in a former life or something?

It would certainly explain a lot if I was. :D

Some were needed for certain jobs, some because I fancied them and the rest because of deals on sets making them better value than buying batteries individually.

It's more a want thing than need. Very nice to have in awkward or remote places but not essential.

I suppose it would - serial collections of Rover 800s and now Ryobi tools not to mention "unusual trailers"!

Are the batteries not interchangeable between all the tools? :? I thought that was one of the selling points of them?
