X1/9 powered by 827i engine update.
Hi all, some of you may remember me from a while back, I am putting a Honda V6 from an 827i in a Fiat x1/9.
Because of all your help, especially CHR15E, my electrical problems (there were quite a few!) seem to be pretty much sorted. The car was delayed as we found that with the extra weight and torque of the engine the car was being pretty much ripped in half!
We decided to bite the bullet and the chassis/engine where completely stripped to do a full restoration, adding a roll cage for strength.
Here's a few pics
The engine's pretty much ready, apart from a melted Cam Position Sensor, believed due to my previous electrical problems? Anybody with other theories on this?
The body work has quite a bit more work to be done before it goes to the paint shop.

my cam sensor did this in my 827, i put it down to the manifolds i made and the use of nos both of which make the exhaust system very hot, also adding lot of extra heat to the engine bay.

@CHR15E, any excuse to show my new shiny bits off!
I can't take the credit for it Mark, the guy working on my car is an American who used to work for some custom car workshops back in the states. He specialises in detailing, although from what I've seen so far he seems to be able to pretty much anything when it comes to cars.
