From car mechanic to cabbage mechanic in one easy step - you're a man of many talents Henrik!

All the best to your wife for her half-century - hope it's a great celebration for her! :D
Cheers,
Dave

Gave the rubber part of the rear bumper some paint and also treated my very interesting safety box in the same way. If anyone is interested in details of the safety box I can do some detailed pics.

...and if all goes by plan I hope to have the car tested by the Swedish MoT in a few weeks.

Only real thing left is bleeding the brakes (changing all fluid) and getting the front bumper back on.

More great work there Henrik! See my post about the ABS as well, how badly do the brakes need bleeding?
Cheers,
Dave

Haha not sure how Quick after all those years off the road but it would surely upset most cars from that time/era! But if I’m in a hurry I just hop into my coupe. That is a fast car. ;)

Especially not when using digital boost controller giving me 220bhp and a silly amount of torque by the push of a button. 60km/h to 120 in third is wooping! Haha I just love that.

Anyway, I hope to get the Vitesse for its first check for 7 years (I think). I need to fiddle some more with the brakes, change the thermostat and fit a new airfilter but other than that its ready to go.

I know it has rust so it will very likely fail though. Next problem might be if they say I need a cat. My car is too new to go without cat according to Swedish regulations but the car is a private import with a noted exemption in the V5 so it should really not be a problem.

By the way Marc its great to have you back on the forum! :D

If you have the cat exemption Henrik, it should go through without a cat. Horrible things anywa, rob the engine of power and economy and make the world smell of rotten eggs, not to mention slowly poisoning everybody with H2S gas!

Good luck with the test, hopefully the tinworm isn't enough to fail it which will give you breathing space to get any "near misses" attended to over the next year.

The 827s and 820 Vitesses were both very quick cars in their day and still no slouches now. I've surprised many modern, allegedly high performance cars with mine. :D
Cheers,
Dave

To keep things organized. Thanks to Dave I have dismembered the car in search for various gremlins in the charging system and ABS system. This has been extremely educating and as the weather is so nice it’s a joy!

I’ve fixed the front bumper and sprayed it black. All running strips around has been tidied up looking great.

The interior has been thoroughly cleaned and starts to look nice aswell. The electric Windows are somewhat stiff but it seems to be a matter of lubricating them with some silicone spray.

Next up is the interior heater fan (thread in the correct forum) and to get the alternator restored by a pro.

Tomorrow I’ll get some pics!
