I have to ask a question that is quite literally keeping me awake into the wee small hours - did the base-spec R17 800s come with remote locking, or would the cars like this one have gone without?

All 800s from launch date to end of production had remote locking, Dan.
No longer an 800 owner!

Would make a lovely companion for my 827i Fastback, but alas, no time for another as yet.
Have got down to one 800 now the last Coupe' has gone, so need to sort other things before I look again.
Shame, as I like this one. ( and the last three are "Her" initials too!)
