Brad's 1992 K Grey 827 Coupe (Manual)
I have had a good look over the car and it is remarkably good. It does need some outer sills - we all knew that - but the rusty rear arches are salvageable. The rust hasn't gone right through and is just surface scabbing, albeit severely orangy. I have bought half a litre of Kurust.
I fear something has been living in the car and removed the bonnet soundproofing yesterday - nuts, rat droppings...oh dear.
Boot is bone dry (unusual) despite a severe jet washing. Good news.
Back box is in need of a small patch
I reckon a couple of weeks, providing it is warmish weather.

I'm waving as fast as I can. Working 6am til almost midnight most days leaves little time in the daylight - er, none, actually. I'll be out there again tonight for an hour or so when you're all suppin' on yer Horlicks.

still on the coupe theme but not this one. Brad did you get anywhere with the new member that came on advertising a 2.7 coupe? i emailed him but have had no response? is this the virus attacker?

I spoke to him and said his price of £2000 was too steep in the current climate. I sold a similar but immaculate car (my own from new) 16 months ago for £1100. He said he'd send pics but I heard nothing. I think he was being too optimistic by far.

i agree with you on the optimistic price but having spoken to chris this evening he sold his 34k kv6 oxford blue coupe for £3000 to someone in wales dont know if its anyone on here but going by that not a million miles off?

I cleared a space in one of my garages and started hacking at this car at 6am today. It's been thoroughly jet washed, soaped, steamed and dried. It's looking a lot better already.
The car is in bits but should be reassembled and clean and working by tomorrow morning as long as I stick at it.
All I then need to do is the cambelt and get the welding on the nearside seen to. Then a lick of paint.

Car is now pretty well reassembled with newish (rather than "new") wheels. I still need to get the welding, the cambelt and some paint done but it is serviced, sparkling, clean as it ever will be and has a new life. Oh, and I shall glue the dash once the weather is warmer - much easier. But, all told, about 80% there.
The rear crash bar was not as bad as feared and drank a pot of black paint before being thoroughly greased up.
When I am next home in the daylight, I shall take some more pictures and would have done so already but I have been distracted a touch by a transmission fault on my V6 Grand Espace which has tested my limited skills.

what type of glue do you use? and what is the best method of clamping without leaving impression behind.
I haven't got a huge amount of lift but it is starting to come apart on the outer most ends. if the car wasn't such a rare beast I would swap the dash for a non passenger air bag, but desperately trying to keep it as it was built.

I use Evo Stick Contact adhesive. It is a bit potent and messy so best wear old clothes and cover EVERYTHING in sight with a couple of layers of newspaper. But before all of that, I degrease and thoroughly clean the dash top. I usually tape the dash down using Duck tape and it needs to be able to stick. Do a bit at a time working inwards. There's a thread or two about this on here somewhere.

This week I have been all over the Midlands and up to Lichfield. Down to North London and to Beaconsfield. Last night High Wycombe and had some great chips in Stokenchurch. But not one flake of snow have I seen. Except on the news. Our fave neighbour, the Toyah, was in the 'paper today moaning about being stuck near to Brighton for 14 hours in her car. Should've called for your helping hand, Mr dollysprint dave. You've got the right tools/warm hands/enthusiasm.
