Re: My Coupe
That may well be the case. I have no EKA code or working fob but managed to stop the alarm LED flashing today. If it stay's off while it is still connected to the original CCU then I think we are sorted.Nuts4my827 wrote:Wow.
Just wow.
Eliminated the CCU problem for so many people with problems.

Re: My Coupe
As promised, a poor quality video. http://youtu.be/xca0IHnWUGk
Still a work in progress.
Added EKA code entry and found a fix to get the car out of alarm. Puddle lamps need programming and also electric seats need power.

Re: My Coupe
That really is a nice piece of work and I cant help wondering how many cars would have been saved if this was available earlier. look forward to the finished product .
Is this something that you intend to produce for members to buy and if so any idea of cost per unit?

Re: My Coupe
I definately intend to make it available to members. At the moment I have to be sure ther are no adverse effects. I was testing EKA entry yesterday, and as you know I have the wrong EKA code for mine and managed to turn the alarm LED to solid red. I managed to get it back to completely off and now have that as a sequence that I can now send back to the CCU. The App needs a setup and diagnostics area added to it. I think the really useful thing about it is that it would be something that would be fixable without dealers or specialist's. Every member I'm sure, would be quite comfortable connecting a usb cable to this for a software change if needed and diagnostic's built into the App would be able to tell us whats wrong.
Do you think superlocking should be added. I haven't added that yet as I have been caught out with that before.
I would gladly accept any other ideas I might have missed or members might find useful.
The app presently remembers the cars location when it was last locked, if that information is available and displays it the next time the app is started, and if you manage to lock your keys and phone in the car, if the phone is still awake, you can send a text to it to open the car or lock the car if needed. I have set my phone to be awake for 10 minutes.
Key fobs. There is a receiver that uses an ev1527 decoder, on 433mhz. The fobs that go with them are quite varied but have many millions of different codes and are readily available. If I choose this particular fob replacement, pairing could again be achieved by the app.
Enough of my waffling, I agree a lot of cars could have been saved if this had been possible a while ago. I lost a nice 800 saloon for that same reason.

Re: My Coupe
One thing I've always liked is the option of only opening the driver's door when unlocking?
And, as a new dad carting around baby buggies and the like, opening the boot remotely already looks like a winner!

Re: My Coupe
That looks very good indeed Paul, very comprehensive and nice and easy on the eye. Is your app working on both Android and Apple or just Android?
Will the app replace or take the place of the fob or can the app be used alongside existing keyfobs. I do like this .
well done sir

Re: My Coupe
Thank you. Unfortunately Apple don't allow SPP over bluetooth so an Iphone App is unlikey at the moment unless I can find a workaround. As the door switches are disconnected from the CCU, original keyfobs cannot be used in conjuction with this, but it would be possible to make a PCB that would fit into the original Keyfob case. I have mimicked it so that the feel is the same, ie courtesy lights timing and what should happen when key is used instead of fob but ultimately made it so we can get out of trouble. The Rover thinks it is always unlocked and ready to go. My final test is to let the battery go flat and see what state it comes back in. My CCU will unlock the doors on power up. I have a frontera as well and if you reconnect a battery with the keys in the ignition the doors will lock, I cannot understand the logic in that. Ideally it would be good to make it not App reliant and always have it get out of trouble with a key.

Re: My Coupe
Thinking about this project, and come to the conclusion that there are three possible type's of application.
1st application and the one I have just completed, would be for a total central locking alarm failure as is my case. This requires a total takeover of all locking and alarm via my CCU and leaving the car in an unlocked state and adding other keyfobs.
2nd application would be an addon to the current, wheras only the central locking motor is operated in conjunction with the existing CCU on a Rover 800 car that works fine. The remote boot and fuel flap would still needed to be rewired via harness to only close the switch. Lights and Horn are a tap into wire going to the CCU. Resetting alarm and immobiliser would have to be done from Rover keyfob.
3rd application would be an addon to the current with the inputs monitored and a spare working Rover keyfob modified to be operated by my CCU.
The 2nd application could be used on any non CAN-BUS car in theory.
