So, some of you may remember that i recieved a 1987 Rover 825 at the young age of 14, and a smaller number of you may remember how amazed i was that a got a free car! Well, i got another one. I am Still far from the legal driving age, but i have 2 cars!
Its a 1996 2 litre fastback, 70,000 miles on the clock with a "Healthy" mouse infestation. The number plate in the photos isnt mine, its on a Jag now. One "fun" thing is the fuel pump, it needs a helping hand to get working, but after that, its all good, Kind of...
The mouse infestation may be a cause for concern, the electrics seem to be temperamental, so it seems our little fury friends may have nibbled on some important wires
There is however a rather sad point, with this new car being better than the Sterling in almost all respects, im beginning to reconsider its fate, with a lack of space and money being important factors, its a hard argument to make.
Here are a few photos.

Nice car.
I know lots about mice - they are pretty okay as regards wiring, prefering foam, carpet, fabric. Get a cat.

No longer an 800 owner!

Both look nice cars.
A fuel pump shouldn't be too much of a problem to change? You've found it by the pictures!

Re: Rover 820
Great car, certainly suits you. How did you come across it?
To be honest, it might be better than the Sterling but the Sterling is much rarer car with a possible sentimental tie? Your Mk1 has the much rarer 2.5 Honda engine which lasted in production from 1986 to 1988. I know it needs work and money spending on it but it is worth it to see such a rare car being given some life again.
With regards to the 2.0, you could get issues on that sorted, clean it up and sell it thus creating some small revenue for yourself to put towards the Sterling.
