would'nt it be better to replace the whole dash as once glued down you will be buggered if you need to get the aircon switch pack and bulbs etc.

I have removed the instrument dials and facia pods (if that is what they called!) so it can all be glued down. I will post some pictures when I get round to doing it.

As Simon says, if you remove the instruments and switch panels first then there is no problem

Having moved house recently work has been a rather slow on any of our cars, but I have sorted (hopefully) the dash lift. It was very bad, but had not been messed around with previously.

Good work there, it was so bad it almost distorted out of proportion! I must say I am surprised how Rover could fail so badly in this detail. My dash lifts a bit every summer and I need to glue it down at least once a year.

It's a naff job to get right. Fiddly and messy if you aren't careful. And for taller drivers like you, not much room to work in with long arms and your knees up by your chin. Definitely a smaller person can do these interior tasks more easily.
