Yours and about a million others! It fits many other Rover diesels, Vauxhall/Opel diesels, Volvo diesels and petrols, Police spec 800s (to cope with frequent starts and all the extra electrical kit), BM........those German things, Mercs - it's a pretty ubiquitous little bugger really!
Oh yeah, it also gets fitted to "civilian" petrol 800s when the owner tends to do short journeys most of the time and has an auto box! :D
Cheers,
Dave

Car is in for mot today. The wiper linkage from Barry's breaker is completely shot and just falls apart, but still better than the original which was snapped. I had to modify a split pin to wrap under the ball joint and over the platic socket. It seems ok for now - at least for the MOT. Tomorrow the clips arrive and I will either fit those or take up Marks (3pinplug) part.

In the meantime, does anyone have a good overhead shot of a late model diesel engine bay? I tried googling but the only decent photo was of an earlier version.

No Problem Mark. My modification will be fine for now.

Good news is T866 ARA is now officially back and has a full MOT Test Certificate! Bad news is my 18 yr old daughter was taken ill and had to be go to A&E by ambulance (home now thankfully) so i cant get to pick the car up until Wednesday :(

Hopefully your daughter will soon be on the mend. As for the car, well it can wait - family are more important. Congrats on the MOT

Hope she's ok.

Is the linkage you need on here? http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID004897

I was lucky and picked one up from Rimmers in a sale for about £25 a year ago.

Thanks guys. My daughter is much better today. Once the hospital were able to get some pain relief into her system (by a drip) she greatly improved. Glad thats over.

I called by the garage to settle up, but wont be able to collect it until tomorrow until I have the chance to sort insurance and road tax out.

Anyway, here it is post MOT:

I am actually not so sure about the Roversports. I might have the Prestige Wheels refurbed and put them back on at a later date (I can believe I am saying that). Looks as though Rover (and verytallbrad) made the right call in the first place.

thanks for the 'wiper linkage link' Tenesmus. Its not a fortune - will have a think about it.

Those wheels would look a hell of a lot better if there wasn't space to drive 7 double-decker buses (on top of each other)through the gap between the front tyre and the arch!

It could be the front suspension is sitting high because of being jacked up to check the various bushes, wheel bearings, CV joints etc and will settle again afterwards. However if that's the case then the headlamp aim will be all wrong too, unless it was checked/adjusted before the front was jacked. That said the VM Diseasel is a heavy lump of metal so should be dragging the nose through the weeds in comparison to the standard KV6.
Of course it could be just the camera angle but checking the trim height should confirm this. Trim height is measured from the centre of the wheel to the wheelarch at its highest point and are as follows :

Front 407 +/- 10mm
Rear 389 +/- 10mm

That's for standard suspension, for Sports suspension, subtract 20mm. Don't forget it's the relationship between the suspension and the wheelarch so wheel and tyre size won't effect it.

Anyway, congrats on the MoT and hope your daughter continues to improve. Just a thought - why not ask the garage if you can leave it there a few days longer while you sort the insurance and tax as it will be July in a few days. If you tax it now you'll lose over 3 weeks worth of tax.
Cheers,
Dave

Yes - I noticed that. I dont remeber it being like that when I collected the car so you are probably right about it sitting up after someones been tickling the underside. Rosalinds Mini's always look like they are on stilts when we go to collect them.

I have been agonising over the same....but it means having to wait 5 days to drive the car! I am not sure I can do it :)

Rovercoup - I hadn't checked to see where it was first registered. Thanks :)

I think the Roversports suit Mark 1 cars - for which they were designed - but they don't suit your Coupe at all. Don't forget, as well, that post 1996 cars had slightly raised suspension from new. They can, as a result, look a bit tippy toe.

Get the old 16" Prestiges painted and back on. If you don't want to paint them, I still have a few sets of brand new ones if you're keen. Still in the wrappers.

I'm with Brad on this - I never thought that the Roversports look right on a mk2
