Post by Marc-827-Vitesse » Sun Oct 26, 2014 3:06 pm

A few weeks ago my dad's mk2 827 Si, my brother's 416 tourer and my mk1a 827 Vitesse were in a magazine.
The name of the magazine is ''Great British Cars'' :D .

Thank you all for those awesome reactions ! :D (and here is the main story line for you English speaking people :P ;) ).

Well it is about our family and our bond with the Rover brand and its cars. First the writer starts of that the 400 and 800 series are as rare on the road as a Rembrandt in a poster shop and that they are being discovered by real enthusiasts and they really are modern day classics.

And then the family story that started with my father who bought an SD1 2600 mk1 (before i was born) because he was just in love with the shape and charm. My dad made a lot of friends with the ANWB (dutch Tripple A) because it broke down a lot :P. But overall it was a nice lovable car. After the SD1 2600 my dad turned to Buicks and Chevy's and German fords but in 2005 my brother bought (as his first car) an targa red SD1 Vitesse SP and that made us all go back to Rover once again because the old love for the brand never really stopped.

My dads 827 si mk2 (bought in 2008) is original Dutch and in great condition with over 200 000 km's the car drives like a Rover should. As a second car, next to his SD1, my brother bought a 416 k-series engine and he uses it every day without any problems and in good comfort. And than the little brother of the family ( me  ) bought (as a first car) a stunning 827 Vitesse mk1 with only 69 000 km's in 2009 and now the car has only done 92 000 km's and looks and drives like a new one.

(The part with the legend picture tells that the Honda Legend had better quality check's than the Rovers and that the 800 and Legend are actually more different than most people think. And that the US were not eager to buy because it was not a very known brand and the quality feel of the interior made the common man/women go to other brands).

Some sour people say they are not real Rovers because of the Honda collaboration but the embodiment and overall grandeur of the cars makes it clear that these cars come from the United Kingdom!!

I forgot my brothers cars

My brother's 416 tourer and his SD1 that is now in repair and was not put in the magazine because it was stored at the time.
