New MoT today. Yipee!

Got a new MoT today and only 2 advisories. "Nearside CV boot deteriorating and slight engine oil leak".(T16) I was very pleased with that.

They replaced the nearside wiper blade for £7 which I thought was bit steep. What was on there was a set of wiper blades bought for a £1 in the pound shop. The package said: "The only set of wiper blades you will ever need for your car" I got 11 years use from them so they were nearly correct. I got my money's worth there. Ha!

And another 800 with a pass and no advisories. :D not bad for a mk1 89 vitesse. To say i am happy with today's result is an understatement. four in this month we are doing well.

Tomorrow is the the turn of the 620 ti, fingers crossed this goes as well as the 800.

Thanks Simon. The 620 ti passed her test today so very happy with this week.

Replaced both rear calipers on the coupe today ready for next weeks mot, hopefully this goes as well as the others.

With regard to MoT advisories:

I have been taking my car to the same MoT garage for 7 years and each year, I get different advisories. Last year the advisory was about the lower arm bushes and I worried quite a bit about having to do this job. This year there was no mention of lower arm bushes, even though they have not been changed. I used to get one about slight play in the steering rack, but its not mentioned any more.

i have begun to wonder if some of these advisories are just the MoT tester covering his backside and showing that he is paying attention and doing a good job. Any thoughts?

I know what you mean I have had a similar experience on my cars. It may be that everything is electronic these days is recorded and as long it does not get any worse from one year to the next no need to advise again?
