Hi group, found the new topic link !
My '93 827 will not always start after it has been in the hot sun for a while, it may have been parked for a couple of hours and simply won't fire, battery good, turns the starter motor, fuel full.
Currently with my garage as it happened while in town so they could check it while it was 'playing up' !

Starts fine when in a cool situation i.e. in the shade.
I am going to search the archives but appreciate if anyone has had similar problem and found a solution.
Kel.

Re: Won't start in hot sun
Almost certainly this is the PGMFI relay, just take it out, resolder the joints and put back - then all will be well.

Re: Won't start in hot sun
Thanks Tim, that corresponds with research and may also explain why the pgm/efi light has been coming on.
Similar post mentioned a box with 'Mitsuba' written on it. Mechanics have been into these relays, will find out later today.
Difficult to replicate problem, and don't really want to, may go buy a couple of those sunshades to keep the heat off the dash.

As Tim says, the PGM-FI relay is a common source of problems. Resoldering is usually successful.
