Excellent pics Marc! Had to take a second look at the Auto-Union though, i thought it was a Sunbeam Alpine at first glance!

A big life event happened!
My wife gave birth to our baby boy Gijs on 8 march.
Our little baby boy likes to cruise around with us in the Rovers. Such practical cars!.
He is little but he has a lot of stuff:


Because the Rover 3500 Vanden Plas needed to be valued for insurance i decided to have the
827 Vitesse valued as well again:

It is clear that it is when they are babies that they take up the most space in the trunk but with a Rover 827 Vitesse, it should be fine...

The valuation was great. Just nice to know they are well insured.

That is fine. The value is not the price on the market i think. But the 827 Vitesse is insured for 11.500 euro's.

@ Mercedade: Ah thank you as well! That is cool as a first car ride isnt it haha. We brought Gijs home from the hospital in the 827 Vitesse as well. My wife said it ''we should take Gijs home in one of the Rovers so his first ride is in a Rover.''.



Time for a update!

I took some pictures the other day of my 827 alongside my SD1. Took some before i know but the SD1 has changed quite a bit now haha.






I noticed that on the dash of the 827 that the black plastic surround of the gauge cluster had cracked. I removed it and repaired it.


First i cleaned the panel and used 2k quick dry glue to align the fracture. Then i sanded the back for good adhesion. Then i cut a small matt for reinforcement that i would glue on with other 2k glue:

Assembled everything and then it was time for the MOT for both my Rovers. First i brought my 827 Vitesse:

My 827 Vitesse failed the MOT test. The garage had good points on why. The rear seat belt did not click properly all the time and the rubber sleeve of the steering system was torn. They would order and install the sleeve and i would look and install the seat belt catchers. I found new ones. Not in the right colour but hey, beggars cant be choosers. I installed them easily. I asked the garage if when i brought the Vitesse back for its 2nd MOT check and the sleeve repair, if they would be willing to change the timing belt, water pump and tensioner. That was no problem:


Now 2 year MOT and a fresh timing belt, water pump and tensioner are a fact!

This friday i was free so i took the chance to give my Rover 827 Vitesse a proper spa treatment. Washed the Rover with grease removing soap, also with the clay bar cloth and then a nice coat of wax:




Also installed new stickers under the bonnet for the timing belt and coolant:

I need to change my belt, my water pump... on my Rover 827 Sterling Option Pack this year.
