Thanks for the compliments! We are very happy with the results. Nice to keep the cars safe in there. And when the garage is empty one can not just resist letting your inner car loving mind go mad haha! What a lick of paint can do.

Because we moved a long distance, some things changed. That is not a bad thing but you just have to adjust a bit. In the past i did the oil service at a friends place. Now at home on the drive. I did buy some ramps so working is more easy and safe.
Just for laughs, installed the fender protectors:

Since a while i noticed that the coolant level dropt slowely in the expansion tank. I wanted to find out what is what. At my new place of work i am lucky that they dont mind you working on your own car as well. Great!
After a check we found a leakkage.
At one of the hose connections it must have been. Colleagues told me that because of corrosion of the pipes, there is no 100 seal anymore. Just clean it and it should be fine again.
Clear to see that there is quite some build up:
Here i cleaned the flanches and i applied a little oil/grease on the edges to ensure that further corrosion is not as quick:
Cleaned the hoses and put grease on them and new hose clamps:
All nice and connected:
We noticed in another part that there was some coolant residue. So also removed that, cleaned it and sealed it. Not sure what part it is. I made some new screws because i don't like putting back rusty screws:
ANd back in place:
Because it whas easy to reach, i cleaned everything:
After all this, we refilled the coolant system ofcourse. I tested the Rover and it seems that it stayes at level now. Will keep a sharp eye on it but i am hopefull. It did the VItesse good anyway.

Excellent stuff Mark! Where did the mystery component come from? Got a couple of ideas what it may be but difficult to be sure just from that view and not knowing whereabouts it lives.

That ties in with one of my theories - in addition to the EICV for controlling idle speed, there's a cold start idle speed valve that raises the idle on a cold engine - this is controlled by coolant temperature so it might be this deivce. Low coolant level or leaks around it can cause a raised or surging hot idle so excellent find and prevention!

Excellent stuff Marc - watched the video on YT the other day as well. Can't find it now or i'd add a link.
Something a little weird, despite being one of the older cars there, your Vitesse still looks more modern than many of the cars there, i really think Rover had it right with the design!
