I've never been impressed with Edd China, couldn't engineer his way out of an open door IMHO and never thinks through what he says.Fastback wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 3:35 pm
I was very disappointent when he guested on 'Edd's Workshop Diaries' and allowed Edd to be somewhat disparaging regarding the 800, particularly when Edd questioned the 'Sterling' name, saying it was silver, therefore 'second place'. Perhaps he was forgetting the national currency, 'Sterling', coin of the Realm, which was based on silver bullion. And when we saying something is 'sterling' we mean it is very good.
You're spot on with Sterling and in fact, in the USA where the whole range was branded Sterling, they each came with a small Sterling Silver ingot and i think a key fob too. Shame our top of the range models didn't get similar but doubtless they would have been "lost" over the years between being new and us owning them.
